They took some "labs" a couple of weeks ago and the results are in. I'm mostly healthy, which is what I expected. But, my cholesterol is a little high.

She didn't specify HDL/LDL or give me any numbers or tips, other than a print-out from Web-MD, which only states to cut back on saturated fats, and exercise more - which I was trying to do, but failing for one reason or another - but doesn't have any details as to how much SF one should intake daily. In a web-search I've found about 10% of calories should be SF, and I think I can manage that.

With this new info I will work harder at exercising at least 30 minutes per day, and being more concious of the SF in my diet (watch the red meat and other meat products, etc). We'll reevaluate in a year (she offered six months, but I didn't think it was necessary).

Does anyone have any tips they could share?

I need a snack to help me through the night. ;) I'm thinking cereal (a common late night snack) in reduced fat milk - something oat based like banana-nut cheerios or Count Chocula that are on the shelf. The CC has been calling me since dinner, :rolleyes1, and I've been a little on edge about eating anything since my visit this afternoon.

I'm not sure how to offer assistance on this one without knowing more of your daily eating. I'm not a big fan of box cereals, yet I will eat instant oatmeal and that's not as good either.

I think your entire day of meals should be reevaluated and if you can, try to balance carb/protein in some form. That the right balance should be there to get you through the night. Is is medical that you need that night snack? It would be a great thing if you can somehow plan to have 6 small portions of balanced food through the day. I find that when I try to do this it does make a difference in that I'm not as hungry.

I do hope you can come up with some sort of solution.
