On vacation was me 33, DH 31, DS 13, and DD 10. Our first time to Universal.
We arrived at the Hard Rock Hotel on June 1 and stayed 5 great nights.
We arrived around 2:00 p.m. after a 9 hour drive. Checked in and put our luggage into our room. Went to Universal rode the Mummy and Twister and saw Beetlejuice. Mummy was good and we really enjoyed Bettlejuice. Went back to the hotel ate at the Beach Club and hung out at the pool they had a DJ, DH and I got a Cabo Rita kids got a smoothie.
2nd day we went to IOA rode everything ate lunch at Enchanted Oak Forest the food was wonderful. My daughter and I shared the rib plate, DH got the hamburger and DS got the turkey leg plate. Was the best counter service. Went back to the hotel around 3:00 hung out at the pool til 6:00 then went to eat at HR cafe. Did not really enjoy the food but enjoyed the sights. We left there and then hung out at City Walk and the bar outside Margarittaville. They had a DJ and DH and I got a Margaritta. Got back to the room around 11:00.
3rd day we went to UO rode everything ate lunch at Monsters Cafe. Went back to the hotel around 3:00 hung out at the pool DH got a Bahama Mamma, I got a Cabo Rita and kids got smoothies. Went to eat at Margarittaville. It was extremley crowded had part of the restuarant closed off for private party. Had to wait about an hour to get a table but was worth it. Afterwards went to the gift shop everyone got t-shirts and other stuff. Got back to the room around 11:00 p.m.
4th day went to UO and then IOA ate at Mythos sad to say I was not impressed. Went back to the pool again around 3:00 and hung out at the pool til 6:00 then went to eat at Pat Obriens. Enjoyed the food and loved the piano players. Left there at 9:00 p.m. and just hung out and shopped.
5th day went to UO rode everything ate lunch at I believe the name was Lombards Landing it was good. Left there after lunch and went to IOA. Went back to the room at 5:00 hung out the pool til 7:00 and ate at the Kitchen had a great waitress the kids had the buffett, DH got filet mignon and I got crab cakes.
Few things that we Loved about Universal!
Loved that you can walk everywheres. The walk was pleasant and enjoyed the garden. We did take the boat a couple of times and the taxi bikes. No waiting for buses!!!
Loved everything about the hotel. Kids enjoyed the slide and activities at the pool It is a vacation all on its on.
Overall the food was better than other theme parks.
Was relaxing you can go at your own pace and still got to do everything as many times as you like.
DH and kids loved the Hulk and the Dueling Dragons they rode them too many times to count. We also like the water rides and all the places you can cool off.
I had a AP and loved the discounts that you get with the food and souvenirs.
LOVED the FOTL!! Absolutley great.
We had a blast and are hoping to go back next summer.
