H&V for lunch?

Have been to H&V for dinner a couple of times and it was good and reasonable - no horror stories. Bit now it appears that they phasing out the dinner service - so looking at lunch. But just wondering how loud it can get; the characters I am not even familiar with. We are 5 adults. This would be in January, so may not have trouble with it, but just wondering if anyone has been there for lunch? Just looking to pick up the Fantasmic package, and Mama Melrose is not appealing and Brown Derby a bit on the expensive side, and a limited menu -DH is a simple meat and potatoes kind of guy. Just trying to figure out how to work this, thanks!

It's a character meal targeted at young children. The food is mediocre. The music is loud. The characters alternate between coming to your table, parading through the restaurant followed by hordes of children, and gathering kids up to dance with them at the front of the restaurant. The characters are all from Disney Junior, they are all on shows that feature a lot of music, and you get very frequent tunes from their various shows. There is a lot of dancing and fun with the characters for the children. It's very cute if you have young children who aren't scared of big head characters.

I wouldn't do it in a million years with a party of 5 adults. We've done it a couple of times for lunch; we did it once when our son was little, and then a few months ago for our daughter, and both times, it was the worst meal of our trip. We found things we were willing to eat, but the food wasn't great, and the restaurant is very, very loud and chaotic. The restaurant will be completely full, and most tables will have small children at them. Those children are encouraged to get up and dance, or parade around the restaurant with the characters.

There are a lot of character meals that I think are great for adults. This isn't one of them.

I agree with Golden Rose. It's great for small kids who are familiar with the Disney Junior characters and I thought that the food was good but I would not book it if we did not have kids with us for the reasons stated above.
