Our only experience with a GV has been a BC at Vero. We were totally sold on having one for each family vacation that we have there in the future for our extended family trips. We didn't all stay in it, but we did gather there and thorougly enjoyed the experience.

SSR will have the treehouses as well as the GV's. We do own at BWV, but we tend to use those points for Standard view multi-villa gatherings and so, even with the 250 we own there, we just don't have enough to book a GV there. OKW isn't for me because I can't do steps very well, and don't want to rely on requests, since I don't need a HA unit.

Can people please tell me what they especially liked or didn't like about SSR's GVs? I know that the treehouses will not have elevators, but for the few times we'll want a treehouse as opposed to a GV, I think SSR would be more beneficial for us.

For these trips, location will not be as important as accomodations, except if people tell me that SSR is absolutely the worst place for anyone to stay for the 1/2 marathon. I suppose what I'm really looking for is comparisons of GV's, understanding that a Beach Cottage is my only firsthand experience. The trips that we take to SSR would primarily be in January, say for Marathon long weekends.

Thank you.

We haven't stayed in the SSR GV, but have toured it several times to try to decide whether to book it this last summer. What we liked about it was the upstairs bedrooms had their own entrance. So the families that stayed upstairs or our DDs could come and go without disturbing anyone that might be sleeping in the living room. But it was the one thing we didn't like for this trip. We didn't want my 7 year old niece leaving the villa through that entrance by herself.

We have stayed in a HHI GV and SSR GV.

Loved both, would stay in both again. The biggest drawback for the SSR GV are the points!

It was great though. The floor plan at SSR is a little more formal than the HHI GV. The HHI GV was huge and open with a fireplace.

The other drawback for SSR GV is that it has 1 patio and it is small. We didnt have much need for it, but it's one of those things that if it were bigger we may have used it more.

We did have a great location and view at SSR. We were in Congress Park. We were also fairly loud with such a large group, but were pretty well insulated because of the GV's sit on the ends of the bldgs and dont really share a wall directly.

We were totally impressed with each and it's nice to have elevator access, which our HHI GV did not have.

There are plenty of runners that like SSR for Mar-wkends. It has lots of paths for running and AP always offers special carb meals for the runners. I dont run, but noticed the runners and the menus while we were there.

We slept 8 in the GV and used it for gatherings and it was one of the best times we ever had as a family. We truly felt at home. SSR the furnishings are so grand and comfortable.
