I run four to five times a week, about forty minutes (4.5 miles), both preceded and followed by extensive stretching and cooling.
I allow exactly fifteen minutes after my post-run cool down, for a proper dispersal of body heat.
I do three sets of crunches, 100 each, on an inclined board. It's very important to not grip your hands behind your head (it can mess up your neck), and to go slow, hold at the apex, then fight yourself going down for added resistence.
I eat a diet high in protein, low in carbs and fat, and healthy doses of greens.
I also drink at least 100 oz of water per day, preferably dispersed throughout the day.
I take 500 cc's of C, plus a multi-vitamin, each morning.
It's imperative to have the bulk of your fats before five PM, and no heavy food within two hours of sleep.
To tell if it's working: take your shirt off, lay flat on the floor. Have your wife take your favorite six pack and set it on your gut. Works every time! "Oh Pat, look at that six pack on your abs."
Oh, you didn't say six pack 'ON' your abs. Never mind. I can't help you.
