I have just phoned to book my restaurant choice and found out that Walts is closed Mon -Fri that first week in January :sad2:

DH and me are gutted Walts has to be our favourite restaurant at DLP.

What other restaurant could we go to?

The other restaurants I have booked is The Steakhouse, Beaver Creek and THe Lucky Nugget.

It really does depend on what you and enjoy, and your budget.

The California Grill in the DLH is a fantastic place to eat, but it is rather pricey (By rather I mean my eyes nearly popped out of my head!).... The food and service were beyond compare and fantastic.

We really enjoyed the Blue Lagoon, but I know a lot of people have reported bad experiences there. We really enjoyed it though, and thought the food was really good. Prices are comparable to Walts.

Have you considered maybe Cafe Mickey or Annettes diner? Both are great fun with lovely food! We're also big fans of the Rainforest Cafe....

Thanks foodie Bob I knew I could count on you :thumbsup2

We have the half board plus vouchers so I was trying to get the best value out of them.

I would love to eat in The Blue Lagoon but I am unsure whether it would be open with POTC being closed . I think you would miss out on the atmosphere without the ride.

I really wanted a restaurant in the park because we are going to have a big late lunch and head off to the Eiffel Tower.

Am thinking The Silver Spur ???? Any opinions on this??

:( I was hoping to go there aswell.
Looks like we are going Cafe Mickey instead now.

It seems my reputation has preceeded me! :lmao:

TBH, I found the fact it was in the ride nice, but not essential to the meal in the Blue Lagoon. People on the ride constantly taking loads of flash photos quite annoyed me to be honest.... The restaurant is really well themed so I'm sure it wouldn't lack atmosphere....

The Silver Spur seems to have mixed reviews as Batman (Reid) has already said, but the general consensus seems to be good.... I was a bit gutted I couldn't fit it in last time as the food looked really really nice!

Have you maybe considered the lunchtime buffet in Inventions in the Disneyland Hotel? No characters, but its meant to be a really lovely buffet.

Hope you have a fantastic time whatever you pick.

I posted about this about a month ago - when I rang to make our reservations (jan 4 - 7) I discovered that Walts, Blue Lagoon and a bunch of other restaurants are closed that week. I booked an early dinner at Walts for the 4th so I will get to try it but as I remember the only places that can be pre-booked that week are the Silver Spur and the Auberge place.
