Gutermann Embroidery Disney Colors Needed & Appliquing Confetti Dot?

I want to take advantage of JoAnns Gutermann embroidery thread sale. I'm not sure about color matching for Disney characters, would love some help!
I'm embroidering Alice, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, & Tinkerbell.

I'm going to be applique embroidering for the first time and have seen confetti dot/sequins used in applique embroidery. How does one do this? I know sewing it is a nightmare unless I'm serging.
