Gulf coast beach days in Oct/Nov

Hi,

On the lines of Tink78's question about water parks in Oct/Nov...

As our beloved TL closes on the day we get there we will be going over to the gulf coast (specifically Clearwater one day and then Anna Maria Island another day) as we are not BB fans but want some beach relaxation time. We love the beach and swimming in the sea. Anyone done this at that time of year? Is it warm enough for a day at the beach?

By British standards it is. We have been to Naples in October and Boca Raton (Gold Coast) in November and it was plenty warm enough. Much warmer than swimming in the North Sea as a child on holidays in Norfolk during the summer.

We have actually been in Southern Florida for Christmas and went to Miami Beach on New Years Day. It was a beautiful day and we did go in the water but it was coooold and you had to continually keep moving in order to be able to stand being in the sea! Want it to be warmer than that!!!
