so on and off i have always wanted to play guitar. from what i hear electric guitar is easier to learn and acousitc. i want to take guitar lessons but idk i dont feel like the "type" or whatever to play guitar but it seems fun. the other thing is i dont have an electric guitar nor do i know anyone who does and it is a lot of money to get one. and the last thing is i am afraid i will do it a few times and not be good or not want to continue with it.

does anyone here play electric guitar (or acoustic for that matter) and give me your thoughts? thanks soo much.

I play the Acoustic guitar! i had always wanted to play the guitar ever since i was 7 years old, but my parents wouldn't get my into lessons then cause they didn't know how badly i wanted to do it or if i would quit the lessons or not. So when I was 7 i got a blue guitar (just a little play one not a real one)for Christmas! but then i kept asking to play the guitar and get lessons and everything and then and so when i was 11 I got an actual guitar, and they were going to get me lessons to go along with it but the closest the could find was like 100 miles away or so 2 times a week so they decided they would keep looking for lessons closer. Then i had a in the 6th grade it was mandatory to take this music class (we had this class instead of singing in the 6th grade) we studied famous singers of all different cultures and then the 2nd half we studied guitars and how to play then and each cord and then we had to learn 5 songs!

really really simple to play the guitar i still play to this day when ever i need to express my feelings i make songs up and cords as i go!

I can play both. My electric is an Epiphone and my acoustic is a Fender. I taught myself which I found was much simpler than getting lessons. All I did was teach myself the different chords and techniques, and then just practised as much as I could. Now I can play most songs and chords with ease and it didn't take much time or money. Good luck!

I play both types of guitars and have since I was like 3. I find it is easier to learn on accoustic mainly because electric picks up every mistake and amplifys it a lot more. If you decide to play guitar I think you need to be sure your goin to stick with it because it is so expensive. I believe that it is best to start out on accoustic though because they are a little less expensive since you don't have to buy the amp, but that is just my opinion. But it is a lot of fun to learn how to play though I think you would like it :).

I'm teaching myself to play electric guitar and it's rather easy. The only hard part is buying a good guitar and a nice amp. For electric at least.
