Is there anyhing in this book that would make it inappropriate to give it to a child?

I bought this for my 7 and 9 year olds and I don't see anything inappropriate-and I'm a bit conservative.

Just don't let them try any records at home

FWIW, I was always fasinated by the GBOWR as child and the interest has carried through to today.

They are specific record books for kids, Time and Scholastic both publish them, my kids love them!!!!

Thanks, I didn't realize there were different books. I'll look for all of them when I go to the book store and see which one I think he'll like best.

My son (9) just bought the Scholastic Book of World Records 2006 at his book fair and it is a pretty neat book. Each page has a large colorfun picture and then a couple of paragraphs of text telling about the record and then a small graph with the top 5 for that catagory. DS13 came home from school one day when he was in 4th or 5th grade and told me about some of the boys "fighting" over the Guinness Book in the library because they had pictures of girls with big 'you know what's, Mom". They do have a section with the largest chest for women, fully clothed though I think.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check that out before I buy it. As long as they aren't naked I don't have a problem with it. I hope they don't have a section on the man with the biggest "you know what". LOL Now that I think of it, why would they put a woman in there, but not a man. OK, now I'm starting to think about this too much. Gotta find something better to do, like make breakfast.
