Oh boy would I get from my dd if she knew what I have been up to. DD and I recently moved to Southern California. When we arrived I got us APs to DL. Well since then we have gone about once a week until school started. Well now that she is in school we have put a halt to those weekly visits.

Last week I had time so I went for a few hours while she was in school. I had the best time! I was able to ride all the rides that I like but she does not. It was so fun but ohh do I feel guilty because I know I am going to do it again!

I want to go once the HM is finally open again. I know that I will have fun but I also know that I will feel so guilty about being there without my dd!

I say enjoy your guilty pleasure :thumbsup2 . I'm going to DLR in Dec without my DD5. My mother thinks I'm going to scar her for life by doing this but I think she will be fine. She doesn't even enjoy the rides all that much when I do take her. I want to be able to enjoy myself without a constant screaming fest everytime we go on a ride. If you continue to feel guilty about doing this, occasionaly take your DD and let her be in charge of everything you see and do (Within monetary limits).

I know what you mean about feeling guilty. We are going in Oct. and only taking DD10 and nephew18(first time)with us.DS12 and DD5 are staying home with grandma.I ask everyone if I'm a bad mother for doing this.Everyone says its ok but still feeling guilty. We are doing this because DD10 will go on the wild rides and the other 2 won't.Even though DS says he is exited to get to stay with grandma(she spoils them rotten),I felt so guilty, we are going back in Dec.and taking all the kids. :cheer2:

Mine would hate me for ever!!!!!!!!!!!
But at least if you live nearby and have AP's I would not feel bad , but a vacation to their favorite place without them ..............no way

I would not worry about feeling guilty. I think it is great you can go even for a few hours and enjoy the parks. Just think it might make you a better mother - you are relaxed when you pick her up from school, you treated yourself to something special during the day. Enjoy your time and have fun!

Wish I lived a bit closer...... I would do the same thing!

Don't feel guilty! Just thinking of it as getting your money's worth of the annual pass!! Enjoy!!!

This is what got me there the first time! DD and I will go back together often one the weekends or when she has a day off from school. DLR is only about 30 minutes from where we live.

I know that I will go back by myself too. I had too much fun not to. I also really want to see the HM all decorated and this is one ride that she does not do often and will not do when it is all done up in the Nightmare before Christmas style.

I also say that this gives me a chance to get her some christmas surprises!! So really in the end it pays off for her too.
