I am looking for any ideas for a guidebook for my 8yo DS. He really wants to "research" Disneyworld, and I found one--Birnbaum's Disney For Kids By Kids. Any other ideas? Anyone have this book and would recommend it?
Thanks

Not sure as to the name, but we bought 2 different books for our boys at AAA. One is more grownup but the other one is written for kids, by kids.

Ok...I just checked and that's the one we have. It's great. My son is going to be 8 in March and he likes to read thru it. It gives great reviews of the rides, restaurants, etc from a kids point of view.

I had the Birnbaum's for DS(10) this past trip. He really enjoyed it. DD(4) liked to look at it. It was the only one I saw at our bookstore.

I don't know of any other guide books for kids by my DD (7) loved the planning dvd and cd-rom.

Did it help with your planning? We have been with our kids when they were young (DS 3, DS 5mos and our DD not born yet!) and we kind of know what to expect, but I want our DS to be aware of what it is going to be like. He does not remember it at all!!!

We just got the one you mentioned for our 8 year old DS and he loves it. Heck! I love it. Its a neat book and I think it tells a lot of great information definatly kid friendly..

Going Back To Disney World
Mommy-Valerie ( 1985, 1993 and 2007)
Daddy-Jason ( First Time Visit)
Son Alexander Age 8 ( First Visit Ever and He has no clue he is going.. HEHE!

I loved the "by kids, for kids" book too! I bought it even though DS was only in preschool at the time because there is a section in the back for their memories of the trip. - I just read the questions to him and filled in his answers. But I think the reviews would definitely be good for an 8-year-old.

My DD8 also got the "by kids, for kids" guidebook- she loved looking at it and deciding what she wanted to try. I was suprised with some of her choices- she wanted to do the WS countries more than just about anything else at Epcot.
