Our family is thinking about doing US/IOA next year instead of WDW. I would like to buy a guide book since I know nothing about the parks and hotels. Can anyone recommend a good guide book?

We are going for the first time and I recently purchased the "Universal Orlando 2006" guide book by Kelly Monaghan. I am finding it very helpful - I am about half way through it. :dance3:

Another vote for Kelly Monaghan's Universal Orlando 2006 guidebook. Excellent, lots of info :thumbsup2

I used to read every guidebook that came out on Disney and Universal. After I found these boards, I realized that I didn't need a guidebook anymore. I've learned more from here than I ever learned from a guidebook.

there is the book by kelly monogan....
but even better is the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2006. They have in depth descriptions of all the Universal rides, as well as the Disney rides. It's like two books packed into one! (there are also Universal hotel and restaurant descriptions)
