If I buy a resale via TTS and become a member, can I pick my own guide after I am in the DVC system? I know someone at DVC and want him to be assigned to me. I would bet TTS has nothing to do with this part.

You will be assigned the Guide that was originally attached to that contract. That would be the person who made the sale and wrote it up. The only purpose of a Guide is for any additional purchases you make down the road so this may not even make a difference to you.

What if you already have a guide from a contact you bought thru Disney, then later on, buy a resale too from TTS? Will you have 2 guides? Thanks!

No you will not. If you have visited DVC and/or purchased you are already assigned a Guide right at that point. If you have not and purchase through TTS then they assign the Guide from the contract you are purchasing.

In fact, this happened to me as I have multiple contracts purchased direct from DVC and add ons from both DVC and two different timeshare resellers. I retained my Guide from my initial purchase till she left the company and I was reassigned. Then to add to the mix I remarried and my DH had his own Guide from his purchases. We decided to consolidate as it is much easier being a one Guide family, lol.

Don;t guides make commissions? I want my assigned guide from my TTS resale to be the one I pick when I do future DVD add-ons (KT).

Now I'm confused too. We're purchasing a contract through TTS (already passed ROFR). Back in November, we did the DVC tour. So will our guide be the guide that originally had this contract or would we have the guide that we met with in November??

I recently spoke to my guide ( who I met originally in 2003 when I was looking at buying points ) I explained to him that I'd bought my points from TTS and was looking to add on. He told me that he would have been assigned to me anyway. I was in his computer sooo when I closed he automatically would have been my guide.

As I stated above, if you have toured the DVC models you are immediately assigned a Guide.

If you have never toured or contacted DVC directly and make a purchase through resale timeshare sellers, you are assigned the Guide attached to that contract.

Once you are assigned a Guide they do not change you unless the Guide leaves their position, or you have a valid complaint about the Guide and speak to the Manager.

Hope this clears everything up now! :)

Cool! Thanks!!!

I changed guides easily after speaking with a manager. I didn't have any complaint against the old one but had really hit it off with another guide on a Disney Cruise and wanted him to be my guide. It can be done.

We went to the presentation in Florida, and then came back home to California and bought while at Disneyland. They split the sale, so we now have two guides, one in each location. I hear from both of them, the California one by phone, the Florida one by email.
