Number did you have? I want to be familiar with the layout before I get there!;) (In 38 days).:p

50's Section

Building A

2nd floor

Room Number 1265

Pool View

Non-Smoking

60's Section (Preferred View)

Building B

Ground floor

Facing inward toward the 70's buildings.

Room 5151

Handicap Accessible room with King bed.

Our room looked directly out at some sort of large pipes sticking out to the ground. At the end of our breezeway as you headed up towards the main hall, there was the back side of Goofy's Pop Jet water play area.

PS. We were there first :) <---- This proves it.

60's building #4 Preferred room 4358 facing the hourglases lake. Pretty view.
The two building right behind Classic hall are the60;s building 4 and 5. 50's and 70's are still fairly close. 80's and 90's are the farthest. This hotel is great get ready to date yourself with all the nostalgia in the lobby. I saw things I had as a little girl and my kids were like amazed at how old I am. Have a great stay I wish we had been there longer. We'll be back for 8 days this summer.

Thanks for the info on the handi-room. It's been like pulling teeth trying to find out where they are. What do you think made it a preferred view? What things made it a handi-room?
I'll be at the POP in a handi-room in May...Shall I say Hi to the room for you, if I get that one? :wave2:

I just got back today, stayed in 60s building B, 4th floor, room 5403. This room is a king bed room with handicapped accessible toilet and tub. Now what I mean by this is, the toilet had two bars that you could pull down on either side of it for accessibility, and even though there was a full bathtub, the shower was the kind where you can take the showerhead off the handle and use it attached to a hose, which probably makes it more accessible. It also has a connecting door, for people who want a connecting room. The view looks down on the kiddie pool, which might be handy for parents. Seemed like there was a lot of floor space in this room, was pretty roomy.

The handi-rooms are dispersed throughout the resort. They all come only with one king bed. They do not have a tub, but do have the handi-access shower and toilets. The bed seems lower to the ground than a conventional room, so that it's easy to transfer from the chair to the bed. Our room also had a small fridge, but we didn't request one and they didn't charge us for it.

As for being the "preferred view," all the rooms in the 60's buildings are considered preferred and they charge an extra $10 + tax/night for them. For someone without a car and being ok with letting others handle all their luggage, it would be great, but for us, we like traveling by car sometimes and we always try to bring snacks and stuff, which I really don't feel that others should have to lug around for me. My honey also has issues with having things stolen from her bags in the past, not at WDW, but losing a $500 leather jacket between London and home, well, it was a hard lesson for her. The 60's buildings are the closest to the main hall too.

I hope this helps. Maggie

50's building rooms 3150 and 3151. 3151 was handicaped accessible with role in shower. First floor behing Tramp facing the lake. Short walk to Classic hall and between two pools. Nice and quiet. Returned 12/27.

Has anyone stayed in the 70's? My kids are excited about the Pop Jets, and it looks like this building is closest without paying for the preferred rooms.

We stayed in the 70's building over Christmas in rooms 167 and 168 on the ground level. One was a king bed which was wonderful and my mother and kids stayed in a regular room. It is very close to the classic hall and right next to the pop up goofy jet pool. I think it is closer then some of the preferred rooms. It is VERY VERY LOUD!!!!! All night long. Since it is on the path to the classic hall. You here people all night long dragging luggage or playing on the twisters right outside the doors. A lot of people are not considerate at all in the evening there, yelling to others around the rooms or on the way to the classic hall. If you like quiet this is not the spot to be. Next time I would request a room in the back and walk farther to the classic hall. But if you like to get your money out of a refillable mug this is a good spot. You get what you pay for here though. A value rate for a value resort. Don't get me wrong it is fine, clean, fun resort. And Brand new.

minnie2002 - if you had not been on the ground floor, do you think it would have been as loud?

and Teri!;) I am asking for 70's, but most likely 3rd or 4th floor.;)

Hello! I think those of us with ressies are all searching for confirmation that we made a good choice! I am booked Feb 15-20 in Bldg. #6 at the 70's. I requested the third or fourth floor. I am hoping it is quiet. We shouldn't be bothered by the distance of the parking lot since we are flying and arriving by town car. Are the 70's building #6 considered a preferred view? I was not told when I called to book so I am assuming not. Has anyone out there stayed in this area? How can I be sure I get what I have requested since it is a busy week-Presidents week? Tyler, Are you lurking? We all are eger to try something new but afraid we might be disappointed with our choice!
Thanks for responses and keeping our excitement up!!!:bounce: :earsgirl: :bounce:

I just returned 12/21 and stayed in 50's Bldg A - ground floor - room 1102. The second room in that building, right next to the Lady statue (Tramp was across the courtyard). Only a few feet from the ice machine and vending, about a block from parking and from Classic Hall. The pool was caty-corner from my room, and was a connecting room with 1103 but wasn't a handicapped room. Since the weather turned cold there weren't many people in the pool, so don't know if it is noisy wen the pool is full.

The earlier you check in, the better chances you have of getting your preferences. The 70's are not preferred buildings, but are located close to Classic Hall.

I think you'll be happy with Pop Century... pretty much every guest that I've spoken to has loved the resort. :)
