Guests of guests

Not exactly. I've heard of people getting people added as day guests by the resort in a case like that.
Oh great. A Day guest is fine. but in order for them to use the pool they would need to be added to our reservation, correct? We have plenty of room to add them. Just trying to verify what's necessary.

If you have plenty of room to add them then that is what I'd do ahead of time. I'm always hesitant to have the front desk mess with a reservation in any way.

Soon-to-be (hopefully) DVC owner. We are planning our first DVC stay in November with extended family. The family will be staying at another non-Disney, Orlando-area timeshare. Will Disney allow us to have our family come to our resort to enjoy the pool and/or dine with us? Will they be allowed to park for free?
Thank you to everyone who provided answers. Yes, I am resale, so no Welcome Home trip. What I may do is (if we get a villa big enough) add the folks from our extended family to our reservation so they can come visit one day.

So I've got another question on this... I just talked to MS. I was going to add our family to our reservation so they could use the pool when they come visit (we have occupancy to accommodate them), however, the cast member told me that since they aren't spending the night that they don't need to be listed on the reservation to use the amenities. He said they just need to be with us. That just doesn't seem right. If that's the case, what's stopping anyone from just bringing extra guests to use the amenities? Should I call back and speak with someone else? I just don't want it to be an issue when we're there.

We all know the information we get from MS isn’t always right. It would be a hard lesson to find out while you’re there. We were at BC and my adult grandson decided to come last minute. Didn’t even think of adding him to our reservation. MS told us we could get him added when he arrived. After dealing with the front desk and MS on the phone, we never got it resolved and he used my husbands band to go swiming at SAB and we used the quiet pool. We were only 2 people in our room, but was told we couldn’t modify our reservation once it started. If we had just added him, we could’ve avoid all the miscommunication.

Ok, good to know. Thank you. I'll call back and speak with someone else. Agree, this isn't something I want to be dealing with on our vacation....

Anyone not listed is not supposed to use the amenities…doesn’t matter if they don’t sleep there. If you have room, just add them.

If they are staying at a different WDW resort, then add them using middle names so it doesn’t link to their MDE. This way, they have the right to use the pool.

if you aren’t going to do that, and Just have to visit the villa, then it’s not necessary. BCV is especially strict since you have to get the wrist bands and without being listed, they won’t get in to that pool.

Yea, this info from MS sounds ill-advised. Amenities, like pools, resort entry, and parking are for actual guests for the resort who are on a reservation. I expect some resorts are more strict than others. For example, the BC/YC/BCV pool scans to verify each person is a resort guest. Just bringing someone with you won't get them into the pool - as the example by previous poster will attest to.

Thanks for that! So, can I just add them through my reservation online? Do I even need to contact MS for this?

That was very poor information. Just do it online. If you did call back I wouldn't even tell them why you're doing it, just tell them you need to add a couple more guests.

I assume if the guests are staying offsite then they’d want to add the reservation to their MDE in order to enjoy EMH as well?
Since there’s only one guard-gate entrance for both Kidani and Jambo, parking can be strict there even though AK is the only nearby park. On our way to Boma for late breakfast last month, the car at the gate had an extended conversation with the guard and eventually pulled into the U-turn and left, with the vehicle directly behind them following into the U-turn without pausing at the gate. We inferred that they had been turned away for lack of a reservation or other valid reason to access the AKL complex.
Interesting, IME through the years at AKV we’ve never had a problem 🤷‍♀️.
Maybe the cars in front of you took a wrong turn & thought they were going to AK the park 😂.

I am fine with sharing that I've done that once! And another time ended up at AK instead of keeping left for AKL.

Even better, adding them to the reservation gives them access to Early entry to the parks and the evening extra hours at MK and Epcot, if they happen during your visit. They're really good perks.
