Guests joining you at resort

I am visiting WDW next month, and while we are down there, we would like for our relatives who live in the area join us for a day.

We are staying at a Disney resort, and I'm curious because I have heard the Disney resorts are secured. Will it be any problem for me to have guests come 'visit' me at the resort.

Please note that they will NOT be staying the night, and have no intention of using the recreational facilites.

Our plans merely consist of them metting us at the resort, we go visit MAgic Kingdom together, then after the park closes we return to the resort for dinner and conversation.

For that matter would they have any problems using Disney Transportation to commute from the hotel to the park and back. I understand that the Guest Services desk at the resort can sell the addmission tickets they would need.

While my boyfriend and I were at WDW in september, his sister and her boyfriend that live nearby came to visit us for dinner. We met them at CR (they drove in and parked right at the hotel). After dinner, we took the monorail to the Poly to watch EWP and have a few drinks at the Tambu Lounge. We then took the monorail back to CR and they ended up driving us back to POR (I don't remember why) but they had no problems parking at the hotel or using the transportation with us.

Welcome to the DIS, Coasterville!

I would just tell the front desk that you have relatives coming at such and such a date to spend the day with you, and leave their name with them. The desk should let security know the names of your guests, and they'll let them in.

In Nov, we stayed at AKL. My cousin, her DH and their DS7 and DS 4 came to hang out with us for the day. They just gave our last name to the security guard and he let them in no problem.

Have fun!

i wanted to know this too.....were going in july, staying at the poly, and have friends staying at the all stars at the same time. but they want to come see our room and maybe use the pool, will there be a problem with the pool part?

We've had people come to visit us at the hotels and never had a problem. I do not think they would be able to swim being alot of the hotels check for id's. No problem with visiting or wandering the "world" though! princess: :wizard: pirate:

You're asking a very flammable question. The policy reads that only guests of that particular resort are allowed to use the pool. Is it always enforced? Probably not. Based on the fact that you are going in July, my guess is that it will be enforced. CM's will ask to see your room keys and based on the numbers found along the bottom, they'll know which resort you are staying in. At busy times of year, parking is also restricted at the resorts, so your friends will probably want to use Disney transportation if they are coming to visit.

Coasterville, it's my understanding that if your friends have park passes, that already includes the use of Disney transporation. As others have mentioned, just let the front desk know so they can alert security. The only problem may be with parking. Depending on which resort you're staying at and what the occupancy levels are, parking may be at a premium and reserved for resort guests only.

I wanted to post the exact same question but hadn't done so yet. We will be at POR the 22nd-29th and my cousins are hoping to come over from Cape Canaveral to spend the day with us at EPCOT. Now I know it won't be a problem for them to park at POR and take the bus with us. Thanks for posting this, coasterville! :cool1:

We are resort hoppers and never had any problem visiting any resort. We just tell the gatekeeper that we are visiting and my get a bite to eat and they let us right in!

What Tammi repiled to Trapped is correct.

This is a very hot topic on these boards. The fact that you are going in July and also staying at a monorail resort...I think security will be checking IDs at the pool. It would just be too easy for park visitors to hop in the monorail and hang out by the Poly pool. I guess you could do it until you are told otherwise.

In Nov, my cousin and myself hung out while her DH and my DH took the kids in the pool. I am very glad we did it and we had absolutely no problems. Then again, it was a slower time of year, and also the AKL is very remote, so it would be more difficult for pool hoppers to get in there.

thanks for the help. they just wanted to come over to see if maybe they wanted to stay there for our next trip......all you thoughts help since i've never been there!
