Guest with wheelchair - temp ramp?

Friends and I are having a party this Saturday. One of my guests is para and uses a wheelchair.

She initially wasn't going to be able to attend but is available now. This means I have two days to make the party location (another friend's house) accessible.

I can/will discuss it with my friend and see what she prefers. She really likes to keep the fuss to a minimum, though, and I want to go into the convo with solutions she can choose from (or a solution already in place). If I seem lost she's quite likely to get the notion that this is too much trouble and back out. I really want her to come and want to make things as easy as I can for her to do that.

The house the party will be at isn't too daunting. One step up at the front door, only a few inches. Standard entry and I think she's used to/prepared to handle this. A lot of the party will be outside, though and it's two standard sized steps to get in and out of the back yard. I don't want her stuck in the house and missing most of the fun.

First choice
I found some cool temporary ramps online but no way to get them here in time. I've been googling but can't find anywhere local I might be able to buy them.
Any ideas on search terms I can use or what kinds of businesses might carry these? They look like my optimal solution and she could have the ramp when the party's over in case it ever comes in handy again. I found a neat one online that folds up like a briefcase and was only about 100 dollars - but no way to have it shipped here for Saturday, though.


Second choice
Would a piece of plywood work as a temporary ramp? I'm more interested in functionality than aesthetics so if it will work this is probably my cheapest, quickest, easiest option.

Third choice
There will be tons of people there and plenty of big guys that could lift her and the chair over the threshold. I've got a feeling this will not be something she'd like, she's not much on hoopla and attention.

Any other ideas? Experiences? I'm going to keep looking for a local place that might carry the temp ramps but it's not looking good at this point. Help

Any good handyman can make you a plywood ramp as I have seen my pastor's wife make one at church over the front steps. My house has a cement ramp that is home made also. Depending on the weather you can even paint it but that would make it possibly slick.

Yeah, being hoisted over a thresh hold is like someone picking you up by your arms and legs and dragging you into the house. It is very nice of you to go to all of this trouble. Now for you to go find someone like my dad or pastor's wife.

Thank you, Churchlady. I think that's kind of what we're going to do. I found some instructions online fo measuring/cutting plywood for a temp ramp and a friend's husband is going to do this for me.

A picture would be nice, lol.
There is in the hardware stores non-slip treads that you can stick onto the plywood so that people will not fall. Forgot to mention that.

We actually found the perfect thing. My googling finally paid off and I found a medical supply place (nearly walking distance from my apt and i never noticed it) that rented me a portable aluminum wheelchair ramp for fiteen bucks! it works perfectly, yayyyy!

Congratulations, I was hoping there was a place nearby but online there is no way to know if someone is a city slicker or out in the boondocks. Google is our friend, lol.
