HI everyone...again! we have decided to do guest welcome bags. people continued to be confused about what was going on all weekend even though we keep keep keep on telling them! so we are going to put together a bag with some goodies and a folder with the agenda for each group of people... (friends vs family). does anyone know if there is a charge by disney for the bag delivery or can guests just pick them up on check in??? also any ideas for stuff inside? thanks for your help, i can't wait to share how this all ends up turning out! :wizard:

Hmmm...I'm not sure what to put in the bags either. I'm thinking of doing them. Maybe a few pamphlets from local attractions, oranges (Fl oranges, lol), bottle of wather (Zepherhills), um...???

We're flying out from the UK so I'm making up a goodie bag with some things for the flight, sweets and munchies mostly, and I'm also writing a guide book for the trip with info about the parks, driving in the US and our itinerary etc as 4 of our guests are WDW Virgins.

I'm thinking about getting those cooler lunch boxes with disney characters on so they can keep their treats cool on the plane and use it while we're there for keeping munchies cool for a day at the parks...

Well my situation is a bit different, but I will tell you what I am doing anyway!
We are booking 5 rooms for our 10 guests (including our room) and it is going to be under my SO's name because he is a cast member and we are going to get 50% off. So when we check in before everyone gets in we are going to fill everyones room with goodies!
We are going to head to walmart and get 24 packs of water for each room and get those little crystal lite and ice tea packs to add to a bottle of water. We are also going to get some food items for breakfast like bagels, ceareal, yogurt, milk and cream, and lots of fruit so everyone can eat in their rooom so that we save time! I plan to throw 2 mugs in each room for everyone so that they can grab some drinks.
I am pretty sure everyone will love it! I think we are going to add other items like matching t shirts and sunscreen. We have so much fun just thinking of all of the fun stuff we are going to add in the rooms!

When I was planning, the cost of delivering the bags/picking them up at check in was $2 per bag! Instead of having them delivered, we passed them out at our welcome party.

Here is a list of things I put in my welcome bags:

**First aid kit-band aids, tylenol, hand sanitizer, chapstick, neosporin, Kleenex
**Rain ponchos
**Sunscreen
**Candle
**Bottles of water
**Mickey preztels
**Welcome Folder-Welcome letter, Phone number list, Hotel list (a list of hotels and where everyone was staying), Hidden Mickey list, Interesting Disney Facts, a list of our favorite things, and our Itinerary (a different one for the bridal party and guests)

When we were looking into this (got married 3/26/05), we were told some resorts will give them out at no charge and others will charge $2.00. Your EM should be able to tell which ones do what, or you can possibly call them direct.

we're doing one welcome bag per family/couple/single for a total of 24. we bought the personalized bags from southhorizon.com on sale for $2/each. we're including a mickey mouse plush, wedding candle bought in bulk, palm tree journal, sunscreen from the dollarstore, ghiradelli chocolate bars, personalized water bottles, oranges, a initiary of our events & wedding day schedule along with some misc. snacks like pretzels & muffins. we also want to include some disney dollars. there are also 9 kids gift bags we made from bags from cheaptotes for 99cents & then personalized with each kids name with supplies from micheals craft store for 9. we are including disney books on clearance from barnes&noble, glow in the dark swords & crowns from the dollarstore, animal puzzles, mickey mouse playing cards from walgreens for $1, disney fruit snacks and then baby items for 3 with gerber baby food, bear in the big blue house bibs, bottles & pacifiers from the dollarstore and wetwipes. we have bought everything but the food items & in the end it will be about $600 for all the bags. our em said the resort will hand them out at check in that we just have to get them there & have them approriatly labeled with reservation #, guest name & check in date, which will be easy as we're taking care of all our guests rooms/reservations.

not sure if you want to do all that but even a simple bag with an itiniary, some wdw park maps & bottled water is great for your guests. i responded to your other thread about newsletters too icgymnast if you want to pm me i'll send a copy of ours, you might also look into posting your wedding info & events on your disneywedding webpage or creating your own with theknot.com its been a great relief for us & helpful to our guests.

best of luck!

As others mentioned, when we were married (12/13/03), some resorts charged to deliver the bags and some did not. If my memory serves me, of our blocked resorts the GF and CBR did not charge, but the ASMo did.

We were very fortunate that a family friend did our welcome bags as a gift to us. She had bottled water, some crackers, a piece of fruit, etc. in the bags. I believe she also put a coloring book in the bags for rooms with children. We also included an itinerary so the guests would know where to be and when to be there. We had previously sent out several mailers with the same info, but we wanted to be sure everyone had it.

Our gift bags have tons of stuff in them, despite their tiny size.

Bandaids
Advil
Sunscreen Wipes
Anti Bacterial Wipes
Cooling Neck Ties
Sewing Kit
Disposable Camera
Hershey Kisses
Kleenex
Poncho
Mug
Small Water Bottle
Magnetic Travel Games
Emory Board
Change Purse (to hold park tickets, room keys, etc...)
Playing Cards
Fan
Fish Lollipop
Pen
Itinerary
Park Maps
I know there's some more but I can't think of it right now

I'm also doing a couple gift bag, one of the couples going is having their very belated honeymoon, and our other couple will have just had a baby 6 months earlier so we're giving them a bag with candels (w/ matches), wine, corkscrew, bath salts, and inflatable pillow for the bath.

Hope this helps
Melissa

Hey, not sure if you have checked it out or not, but the Disney Florist website has some pretty awesome gift sets. They have one that is a Disney Cooler Bag and it comes with water and snacks, pop and some other stuff. They have another one that is a Disney cotton bag filled with a bunch of stuff. They have a whole bunch of different kinds of gift bags, golf related ones, spa sets, wine, fruit. And when I talked to them they said that I could add my own stuff in, and they do deliver at no extra cost.

One thing I saw that was cute for beah themed weddinges was flip flops thedecorated them seleves (you can get them from micheals) Also any kind of foot cream or Blister relif would be great!!

I have been on Disneydeals.com for the past year and a half slowly collecting good deals:) My bags (bought at orientaltrading) will be unique per room. Each room will get some sort of sun protection (either lotion or lip balm), scented soap, antibacterial gel, playing cards, and then any number of unique gifts that I have collected. Each room will also get a hangtag for their room door identifying them as a member of our group so they can be easily found (if they want to be!). I also, when I get down there, depending on the number of rooms intend on buying either the mickey pasta or the mickey pretzels:) I also, like other posters, am going to include an itinerary of events of where myself and my fiance will be if they want to hang out with us, and an itinerary explaining how the big day will work!
