Guest Services currency exchange rate

I understand, but may be mistaken, that Guest Services exchanges American money for the local currency of the port. Does anyone have any experience on the exchange rate, is it a good rate?

I don't have any personal experience with this, but others have reported the exchange rate is not bad, and they do not charge a transaction fee.

Just be aware that on some itineraries they run out of money early on (ie. European itineraries Russian ruble)

We've used the onboard exchange. The rate isn't great, but it's not bad. We only used it when we needed "a little bit more".

They will also buy back any unused foreign currency (bills only) at the end of the cruise. I believe you have to keep your transaction receipt from the initial exchange to do this.
