my family and i are planning on staying at pop century for our upcomming trip. we have only done deluxe resorts in the past, so, does anyone have any pictures of the guest rooms at pop? i keep hearing the same thing over and over " the pop is o.k. but the rooms are reaaly small". do you think the room is unmanageable for a family of 4 ( children ages 3 & 6)? are the rooms at the moderates that much bigger, or is there not that much of a difference in room size? we don't spend much time at the hotel at all, we pretty much shower and sleep there and that is about it. but, i do want it to comfortable while we are there. i don't want to upgrade to a moderate hotel if the room is not that much bigger!

We stayed at Pop last Dec and usually stay in mods, the rooms are not that much smaller. You will have only 1 sink instead of 2 that most mods offer, 2 full beds, small table with 2 chairs and armoire/entertainment cabinet. We were also a party of 4, myself, DH and DD's 4 and 6 - we had enough room to sleep and get ready but I wouldn't want to hang out in the room for any large amount of time. Check out www.allearsnet.com for resort FAQ sheets and pics. We really enjoyed Pop and plan to stay again this year.

the moderates arent that much bigger just a few feet and the beds are the same size... the moderates have 2 sinks however and a curtain between the room and the bathroom that the values do not
hope this helps

With the ages of your kids you will be fine. The rooms are not THAT much bigger at the mods.

We have stayed at Pop several times over the past few years...my DS is now 19 and DD 11...don't spend much time in the room, and we are just fine...we've stayed in smaller rooms at the Jersey shore for a lot more $$!

The rooms are a Little bit bigger and when you factor in all the stuff you bring like strollers and all the stuff we cary with kids, In My Oppinion the Moderates are much more Comfy, I just came back from a Not so Groovie time at the Pop, and I felt a little cramped.....I like the Moderate much better.....and having the extra sink with 2 girls and a mommy and daddy its great...Also the Curtain in the Bathroom is great when the girls are sleeping....and I love that you get a fridge and coffee maker included, I was kinda stressing over that this trip, lack of my planning, Didnt think I would miss the fridge but its just too much to keep getting ice for the little soft sided coolerI brought when all I wanted to do was sleep,lol....and I like brewing my coffee first thing in the am....also My kids like having some orange juice when they wake up and having it in the fridge already cool is nice.....really its what your expectations are......My Vote with your Little ones who are my kids age is for the Moderate.....

Okay, I'm digging through my memory on this. Old research!

If I remember correctly, the value resort rooms are about 240 sq. ft. That's a shade larger than 1/2 a standard 2-car garage (20 ft x 20 ft).

The average moderate resort rooms are about 270 sq. ft.--I think. Could be 260. In any case, 20 to 30 sq. ft. larger than a value resort. About 75% the size of a standard 2-car garage.

Apart from the full-size (double) beds in both value and moderate resorts, the furniture in a moderate is a shade larger than in a value. There is a bit more floor space in the moderate rooms than the value rooms, as well as the double sink (except CSR, which has a single sink).

One of the amenities of moderate resorts that I particularly like is the refrigerator (not a coffee drinker, so not an issue). However, if you don't mind changing the ice in a cooler periodically (place it in one-gallon ZipLoc bags--no mess to clean up!), you can save quite a bit by staying at a value resort.

I've stayed at POR three times, at POP four times, as well as the Polynesian, CR, BCV, BWV..in fact, I own at BWV, and I still stay at POP! So, with all that said...if I had to choose between a value and a moderate, it would be the value. I love POR, I truly do. But, the amount money spent just does not justify the difference in amenities. I can live without the smallish pool slide, I don't use the hot tubs (way too many people in them) and I tend to eat TS at the parks, not my resort.
So, I can happily make do with what POP offers. They have a dandy pool area for the kids, a wading pool that's terrific for the really little ones. The pool bar is fun. The food court is more than adequate. The rooms are about a foot shorter and half a foot narrower than a moderate. And there is no curtain divider...so I bring my own. I can do with the double sink...don't get me wrong, I like a double sink but don't need to pay extra for it.
But, that's just me. I know there are a lot of people who wouldn't be caught dead in a value resort.

We have stayed at POP 9 times and not for the money. I'm just a big kid when we cross under the WDW arch and I think POP is FUN!!! It is usually me, and DH, with a 17 and 16 year old and we have plenty of room. You will be fine and your children will  it!!!

I have found the rooms at pop are just fine. We a family of 4 as well. DD 2 1/2 and DS 6 jus got back from stay in Feb. the room was fine. Like was said before, we do not spend that much time in room at all. get ready in the AM sleep at night that's about it. 84.00 for pop room, 150 for mod and 250 for dlx. We would rather spend our $$$ at pop and get another trip in for the year. Either way you will have a great time.

Your comments really put my anxiety to rest. I wanted to "upgrade" to a moderate this next trip, but my wife was not in the same corner as me. Reading what you said, really put my anxiety to rest regarding the values. We have stayed in AS and Pop, but for some reason I was itching for a moderate. My wife did not want to spend the extra $500 for the week we would be there for a moderate. I still had reservations about this until I read your post.

Thanks so much.

The value resort rooms are 260 sqft.

The moderate resort rooms at CSR, POR, and POFQ are 314 sqft. (54 sqft larger than a value resort room.)

The rooms at CBR are 340 sqft. (80 sqft larger than a value resort room.)
