Guest receptiveness to registry/2 week honeymoon?

We already have one week booked for our honeymoon. Should I make a second? I requested off from my current job but am getting interviewed for a nother hospital (i'm a nurse). My friend who works at the new hospital I will hopefully be working fro says that they are lenient as long as you have it in soon... and it's 3 12 hour shifts so i could always request 2 weeks off from work and the week of the wedding work sun mon tues night and be off weds thursday friday saturday sunday.

I would LOVE two weeks for a honeymoon and two weeks in disney world, esp if i can get anyone to help pay for our honeymoon on the registry... my dad already sprung for one week at beach club villas and we have 7 days worth of park passes left over from our recent trip in august.

How receptive are guests to helping out? how do you feel about two week disneymoons?

We had a 2-week honeymoon, and it was FABULOUS! I highly recommend it. You will never have another vacation like it, so why not really take your time to enjoy it?

However, I would say not to base the decision on the hope of guest contributions through the Honeymoon Registry, b/c I wouldn't want you to stress out the whole time if you don't get enough money. So only do it if you can afford it even without extra help from guests, is my feeling...

Yes we can afford it without, thanks to my dad's generosity and our lack of buying park tickets... Did you DDP? We could do one week with it and one week without if we change resorts. I don't know if we should do it the whole time. I doubt we'd run out of things to do at Disney but it would sure be nice to be able to do tours or massages... Things we actually can't afford

Exactly - when you have a longer honeymoon, you don't have to tour the parks like a commando and you can do fun extra stuff like tours and massages!

We didn't do DDP cuz we don't really eat at counter-service restaurants and we had the Disney Dining Experience discount card... But if you can do it for one week, it might be interesting to try and then compare it to your eating habits during the week you go without it. Although the general consensus seems to be that DDP is only a good value if you get it free, for a lot of people the idea of being able to get whatever you like and have it already paid for is worth the price.

I agree with Carrie - if you can afford to do it - why not? I would love to, but I'm already pushing it with 10 days (3 of them are wedding and wedding prep). I say go for it!

We're honeymooning for 10 days. But I don't plan on our guests buying anything off the registry.

I would say go as long as you can afford to pay for yourself. We could have stayed longer, but we're going to go back in Dec (6 months) after our honeymoon. I decided I'd rather save DF's days off to go back again in the same year.

Thanks all. We can afford two weeks, but I was just curious about how receptive people were to the registry. It would be an amazing perk to have some of the cushier (spelling) things we've always wanted to try... spa treatments or a tour or a pirate princess party
