Ok, I had to post this seperatly so anybody who needs this info can find it fast, thanks to all who helped me find in from my last thread.

Guest of Honor badges can be found at the Christmas Store in DTD. You may call them 407-828-2042 and order them over the phone. I called and left a message, they called me back about 2 days later. They were very nice and the best thing........they are having them sent to my hotel the day we arrive so I can save on shipping! I will just pick them up at the Poly gift shop! She suggested this, it never occurred to me to do this!! They are the traditional red ones w/ Mickey and are $6 each (Magic Kingdom Mega store had them for $22 each!!)
I am already having a gift basket w/ snacks and autograph books sent to our family from the WDW florist for the day we arrive and now these will be there too, the kids will be so excited, I will tell them Mickey sent them to welcome them to Disney. Thanks again to all!! :Pinkbounc  :wizard:

I just got 2 for my kids from a site I got off disboards called earstothemouse.com.. they are guest of honor badges from Disneyland, but they are the cutest I've seen. I can't wait for our trip in 8 days to give them to the kids. Cost me $11.50 with shipping to Canada. That's just fine by me, all over the internet, and I trust the lady who gets them. That says a lot for me because I got taken for over $230 for disney passes on ebay. The badges are red with mickey, the kids' names in white and so so so cute!!!! Two badges cost $22.00 with shipping. I would recommend her to anyone else.

I apologize if I sound too ignorant but:
What are this "Guest of Honor Badges"????
Thanks :confused3

Red oval pins w/ mickey and a space for your name. I got them for my kids, the cm's at the park say hello using their names and it looks cute on their pin lanyards too! They practically dissappeared from every store online and in disney for a bit, but I guess maybe they are coming back. At one point I was checking online constantly and at other stores and nobody had them, even the xmas store at Disney, but I guess they are back!!
For those who worry about "stranger/danger" and someone knowing your kid's names.......well anyone who stands next to my family for as little as 2 minutes will know my kids names from me having to speak to them about something!!!

Think that is great.... I might copy :goodvibes although its my DH and I only this time, it is fun to have some mouse magic!!! :earsboy:

I have left two messages so I am hoping they will call back - maybe because I am calling from canada?

A question about the basket for the room - snacks, autobooks - where do you get this and is it affordable? How do you arrange for it to come to your room when you don't know which room you are going to be in?

I called on a Mon. and they called me back on wed afternoon, it took alittle bit but they did. I would not think the Canada thing would be an issue.

As for the basket being delivered to our room, since we are arriving the 12th, probably after 5 pm(we are driving from NY) it will be left at the front desk for us. I am picking up the badges at the hotel gift shop where they will be waiting. I probably could have had it delivered the next day directly to our room, but we will need some of the stuff for our first day in the parks!!
:goodvibes

HOpefully they will call on Monday - I will call again if not. Can you tell me what shop you got the basket from - do they have a website? That sounds like a great idea - and we could just have them send it to the desk for us - either way the kids would be thrilled!

The website is www.disneyflorist.com and the phone number is
407827-3505. I just checked the website and it is now more fancy than when I ordered just 2 weeks ago, but if you call them they are very accomodating. :smooth:

Glencoe, where in NY are you driving from? We are also driving from NY on the 18th.

Long Island, it should take us about 18-20 hours, I am hoping for closer to 18. I want to arrive at the Poly and be able to enjoy the evening there. Hopefully arrive before dinner, check in and let the kids RUN!!!
We are leaving about 12 midnight (earlier if I can talk my dh into it) :smooth: ) and drive straight through the night w/ kids sleeping for the first half of it. I figure I am paying a good penny for the hotel....I want to enjoy that day I paid for!! :rotfl2:

We are also leaving in the middle of the night. Probably around 1:00 am. We are driving to at least SC, hopefully farther, spending the night and then finishing our drive on the 19th. I am hoping to get there as early as possible on the 19th so we can enjoy as much of Disney as possible in the time we will be there. I think it is supposed to be about a 20 hr drive but that does not include stops. Have never done anything like this before so dont really know what to expect on such a long car drive.

hello cricket429... I did that drive many times as a child - I grew up in Lockport... can't say that I have fond memories of it... we are opting for the flying... but I did call my mom and ask her and she said it was about 22 hours for us... hope that helps...

MaggieD, was that 22 hours with stops? If so, that about what we have figured. Thanks for the input.

hi - I too am on the hunt for GOH badges. I am also driving from Boston with our kids in May! We plan on leaving around 8:00 pm so the kids will fall asleep in the car - plan on driving non stop if possible. I figure by morning we should be in at least Fayetteville NC. (hoping!!!) I figured we would get some breakfast and then my dh can take the kids to this children's museum in Fayetteville so I can get some sleep- then after a few hours back on the road! Seems like Fayetteville should be about 13 hours (with only 8 more to go) for us. So I think we will spend the night at a cheapo motel around Disney (why spend big bucks when I will be too exhausted to enjoy it?!) Then off to WDW the next morning! Hoping this will work! We drove through the night to Hershey Park last summer and it went very well. I was tired but it was worth it to get the driving over with while kiddos slept! All you drivers will have to keep me posted on how it goes!!!
