Guest Book Ideas

Since our date is close to Christmas, we're using a white Christmas tree skirt and having people sign it with Sharpies. We figured that we'd put away a guest book and not see it much, but we'll take the tree skirt out every year on or around our anniversary and have it to look at for a month or so!

I love this idea! I've never heard of anything like that before, it's so clever!

That's so funny - I've started scrapping our honeymoon first too! It's 2 parts, Disney and a cruise and I've actually started on the cruise first. I'm kind of scared to do the wedding and just want to make it so perfect that I don't know where to start :confused3 I've been scrapbooking for almost 7 years and I'm still so nervous to start "The Wedding Book." You're right, the honeymoon is way more fun! I'll get there though, I'd like to at least start before our 1-year anniversary, which is coming up so fast! I think having the signature page in the book will be really special, it's definitely something to look at for years to come.

I think we might be long lost twins! We did Disney and the cruise as well. And I'm totally scared to do the wedding -- we did disposable cameras on the tables and when I got back a stack of pictures 6 inches high, I freaked out!

My honeymoon is going to run into two albums I think. I've only done the Magic Kingdom and our first few days at Disney, and I've already used nearly two packages of paper! Looks like our 4 days on the Disney Cruise might be just as big too! We took TONS of pictures!

I've even gotten my calendar pages ready for NEXT year in an effort to put off THE WEDDING BOOK.

I found a really nice album in the wedding aisle at Joann's. It's Joann's brand. It is a 8x8 guest book.. the reason I really liked it and bought it, is that it has all the pages inside to sign, but they are slipped in page holders just like a scrap book. The pages can be removed. So, what we will do is get pretty paper, cut it to 8x8 and put it on a table at the reception with pens, and a sign that says to sign the page with best wishes and advice. We will cut 4x6 cards, that say something like "This is the size of the photo that will go on the page, please sign around this card" We are going to have photos taken of our guests as they come into the wedding pavillion, and will put the photo on the page that they signed. We will leave a few of the lined pages in the front, and put those out at the wedding pavillion for regular signing.. then the rest of it will be a scrapbook of all our guests!

You could do the same thing with any of the 8x8 disney albums out there -- there is a mickey one that comes in black or red.

i was at a wedding where the brideand groom had guests sign ornaments, so now they have ornaments for their tree and they had them for their first Christmas.....

They make really cool mickey head ornaments.....

I just made my guest book tags! Here they are...
tags1.jpg

My fiance helped me to print out pictures of our grandparents and parents wedding pictures in sepia tone...and we printed it on thick watercolor paper. I drew the pictures of the acorns and printed them on the same paper. Guests at our wedding will sign, or write something nice (hopefully) on the backs of them, and then they will hang them on some pretty branches that we will have displayed in a large vase. :teeth:

I just had a guest book idea. I just recieved the stuff i ordered from Ebay. I ordered a wire Cinderella Carriage. I'm gonna decorate it with tulle and flowers. Have people sign a pretty piece of card stock ( left over from making invitations). Then after the wedding put them with pics of guest (taken with me and DF) in a scrapbook.

That's where I got mine. Each guest (or family) gets a page (double sided) where there are questions and such. They write on it, there's a place for them to draw a picture of the bride and groom, and there's a spot for a picture of them. Turned out REALLY nice.

We will have a "wish bowl" at our wedding instead of the traditional guest book. I will decorate a glass bowl of some sort and put mini notecards and envelopes next to it for guests to write us "wishes". This is a Martha idea princess:

I love getting mail, and always enjoy receiving postcards.

Since this will be a holiday for everyone, I thought it would be fun to supply my guests with postcards and have them write about their trip or any well wishes they might have for us. My MOH will be in charge of making sure these get filled in and mailed back to us.

This gives me something to look forward to once we get back and will be a reminder of our destination wedding. We will be moved into our new home by then, so I look forward to getting this special mail to the home we have bought together.

I will also be writing a postcard to my new husband the day of the wedding. Hopefully he will do the same for me and this will be a nice way to share our feelings with each other and reflect back on our wedding once we are back home.

All postcards will then be put into a mickey scrapbook I have already purchased.

i got a book at michaels crafts & then some material

I them found a picture of cinderellas coach with the horses & i traced it on.......then I hand beaded tiny little beads on it in different colors,,,,it turned out awesome & it wasnt hard, just time consuming...

I made it for someone else & never took a picture(darn).

if someone wants more info on this let me know:cool2:

Well I really want our guest book to be something special. So we are going to devote a table to scrapbooking. Everyone will get a page so they can write us special messages. We're going to put special shaped scissors, stickers, and tons of markers at the table. Also we're going to have polaroid camera there so everyone can get a polaroid of themselves and put it on the page. That way every page of our book is different. We're only having 40 people so I think it should work out fine. It would be a lot harder to do with a lot of people. Of course we're going to put an example on the table from Mickey and Minnie so everybody gets the idea. :goodvibes

I really like your idea! I think it will make a wonderful keepsake, and your wedding scrapbook will have a great start!

PS. I saw this thread and opened it up...and found that this is a thread that I started! :rotfl: ...I started it way back before my wedding! :rotfl2:

I have been looking at these for a while. Last night I had some friends over and one of them is having a 50th birthday party for her husband. I showed her the website and she fell in love with the birthday one. We ordered them last night and she is having it sent to my house so her husband doesn't see it. She is having the pages personalized with his name, age and date of the event. I can't wait till it comes in and I can get to see it. This will give me a great idea of what the wedding one will be like. She did the black leather cover with the space in the cover for a photo. She is going to take one of his baby pictures and put it on the cover.

If anyone has used this before please let me know how it looks. I'll post here after I receive it. I really want to see what the quality of the cover and pages look like.

Buy a stretched canvas at any craft store and draw with a sharpie the outline of Mickey, the Castle or any Disney image-(if you can't draw, print out of computer and trace it or have someone who can draw do it for you. A little kids rendition would be cute too) Just make it large and put on an easel or table and have a little basket or glass holder with every color marker. Each guest can color it in, leave a note, and add their touches to it. You'll have a great piece of art to hang in your home as a memento. You can't believe how the most unlikely person will get so into it.

That is a great idea. I may steal it for my Mad Hatter at home reception. :cool1:

Wow these are sooo adorable... You had a BEAUTIFUL wedding from what I have seen you post on the boards...:cutie:

we're having an intimate, so no guest book there, but at our at-home reception, i found a book that you could order silver serving platters with your name and wedding date engraved on it, and then your guests sign it with a special pen, and you send it back to the company, they engrave everyones signatures into the platter and send it back

All these ideas are wonderful!

We had two- a traditional one and a coffee table book- The Art of Walt Disney- where we had people sign on pages with their favorite images/movies. It turned out really cute and people came up with some really creative ways to incorporate their well wishes and the images! I just wished more people had signed it! We figured we will have it on our table on display so it will actually get some use.

I'm doing a plate for everyone to sign! As a matter of fact, Princessdisneybelle saw it and picked it up for me one day while she was out, so sweet of her! I can't wait for everyone to sign it so we have something we can either display or use and it doesn't just sit around not seen until we pull it out! I'm so excited! Here's a pic of it!

Thank you Laura for all of your help!

When we had our "Wedding Dinner" (at CRT, after courthouse wedding), we had our pic taken with Cinderella. We bought a gorgeous frame with a large photo mat. I plan on having our guests sign that mat and putting our wedding portrait in there. Then buying another frame and photo mat and having characters sign it and putting our photo with Cinderella in it.
