Guesses for next round of cancellations?

What are your guesses for when DCL will announce its next round of cancellations? Do you think this will include the December 26 Fantasy (7-night Eastern Caribbean)? I am feeling quite certain this cruise will not happen. We are on it, and Disney has my money. I want to cancel so that I can make alternative plans for winter break, but ideally, I don’t want to lose my deposit, which would happen if I cancelled now. I have a fair amount of money tied up in this reservation that I’d like to use for our other vacation plans. For those who have been paying attention to cancellation announcements, what‘s your guess for when we might see the next round of cancellations, and do you think it will include the December 26 Fantasy?

I suspect we'll see another extension of DCL cancellation before the end of this month. The last announcement was 9/15. We are booked on a 1/9/21 cruise that we are certain isn't going to sail. We are just waiting for the official cancellation so we can move to another sailing with the Future Cruise Credit, since we have already paid in full.

I highly, highly doubt that the Dec. 26th fantasy will sail, so wait to hear more. I'm guessing they MIGHT sail in summer, if you quarantine before, but that's a reach.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am also quite certain this cruise will be cancelled, I’m just concerned about when it might happen. It’s a lot of money that I unfortunately have tied up. I’d like to have that available to make other plans for winter break..

I thought DCL had relaxed PIF and cancellation penalties to 60 days out. If you are simply looking to cancel without penalty, I think you can do that if you act on it this week. If you want to carry forward a Future Cruise Credit, you'll need to wait for DCL to cancel (but I don't think you'll get a refund).

Cancellation Fee Schedule

• For sailings through March 2021, the cancellation fee schedule has been temporarily relaxed from beginning as early as 119 days prior to sailing to beginning 59 days prior to sailing for Guests booked in non-Suite and non-Concierge categories. For Guests booked in Suite and Concierge categories, cancellation fees in excess of the deposit amount will temporarily begin at 59 days prior to sailing.
• Reservations for Inside, Outside and Verandah Categories with Restrictions remain nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Thank you!! I somehow missed this. I just called to cancel. apparently it is causing some confusion because this was a rebooked cruise. We were on a June 2020 cruise and used FCC to rebook to this cruise. The person I spoke to said it “has to be approved by the back office.” She completed the necessary paperwork to initiate the cancelation, but it has to be approved by someone to get a refund. Hopefully whatever this process entails, it won’t take too long!
