- and this is probably only interesting to those traveling to WDW from NS - but hey, someone might be as happy as I to know this!

The Cat Ferry from Yarmouth travels to Portland, ME - 6 hour trip.
You can do both walk-ons, or bring your vehicle ($149.00)

JetBlue, USAirways, etc, etc, all fly from Portland Jetport, aka, PWM

Fares for the 4 of us were under $1000 PWM-MCO, on USAir this August, return.
MHT (Southwest) would be approx a 3 hour drive from Portland.
BOS would be just over 2 hours drive..can anyone say direct flights??:)

...wishing that the Scotia Prince was still sailing, but this seems a good alternative..

HTH!

Well, I don't know... the Cat is pretty pricey. The fares for this year Yarmouth to Portland are about $100 per adult one way, including the security fee. About $70 for a child. So if you're 2 adults 2 kids, that's $680 for the round trip... not enough savings on airfare flying from Portland for me, not when you add in the extra travel time. But then, I'm in Halifax not far from the airport. It would look a lot better if I lived in southwest Nova Scotia and had big travel time to get to Halifax airport.
