Guess what I just found in my luggage that flew 6 weeks ago?!

This made me feel real safe. NOT While unpacking my carryon today I found a keychain that has a bottle opener on 1 end and a knife on the other. These fold in. Short, only about 3inches opened. But still could have been used to do some damage. Got through both Providence and Orlando airports.
I took it out. Will not be flying with it on my next flight in 5 days.

Did you fly out of BOS or BDL? I have a co-worker who's MIL just flew BDL to MCO with a BOX CUTTER in her purse. She stocks greeting cards in local supermarkets, so the box cutter is a tool of her trade which she inadvertantly forgot to take out of her purse before her trip. Got through security at BDL no problem, no questions. Absolutely undetected! Does not make me feel too good.

This is exactly what I have been feeling about airport security: it's more for show. There are too many things that get by to feel safe, or to kid yourself into thinking that things are more secure now.

Flew out of TF Green Providence, flew home Orlando Oct 5-14.
Same thing this trip Dec 1-9.
But the keychain/bottle opener/knife will NOT

What was TF Green like in terms of check in time? Did you use Delta Express? Hope your trip was a success! Thanks for any info. you may be able to pass my way. I'm traveling on 12/13 at 7am. It's a Thursday.

And my carry on bags were seached in MCO before boarding my ATA flight. In the side zipper bag were some matches from the All- Star Cafe. ( just for lighting my candles ) I was told "Sorry no matches on the flight." So there they stayed.
