Guess what Guess what!!!!!

We are planning on leaving at like 7:00 at night and driving straight thru so then hofully the kids will sleep. then on the way back stop at different places and take our time.

We had talked about leaving at night and driving straight through but thought that we would be too tired to do much else the rest of the day. We are planning on leaving about 3 a.m., so we can be south of DC before rush hour, and then spend the night around Jacksonville. Then do the remaining few hours the next morning, get to Disney check in/setup, then head over to the Magic Kingdom to ride a few rides, catch the parade and fireworks that evening.

We'll end up driving straight through on the way home.

Try to get south of Jacksonville before you stop for the night...its traffic can be brutal in the morning rush hour. Of course, the evening rush hour is worse, so it depends on what time you arrive there.

We are leaving on a Friday so my thinking was stop to just north of Jacksonville, made reservations at Jacksonville North/St Mary's KOA right off I-95 for the night, and hopefully Saturday morning traffic won't be that bad. We plan on getting an early start Saturday.

I loved that we stopped in Georgia on our trip (but we stayed in a hotel). It was fantastic stopping at the FL welcome center for free juice for the kids (and me) as well as pictures at the Welcome to FL sign.

Have to stop at the welcome center for a cup of orange juice, or is it to change from our winter to our summer clothes?

Lets see, 1) change clothes, 2) Drink OJ, 3) Take Picture.

Scheduled our RV service for next week. Hate to pay for de-winterizing, but there is no way I am going to be able to flush my system before this trip.

I didn't know the welcome center had free juice. Well now that's a must do. I think I'm going to talk my DH into traveling in the daytime and hopefully making as far as we can til the kids had enought and find a local campground. I want to stop at the south of the border to buy fireworks but that's only about 8 hours of driving and I feel the kids can handle more then that

We've been doing long road trips with our boys since they were infants so they are used to it and do well riding. They keep themselves occupied with movies, video games and books. A couple years ago we did a 26 hour drive to San Antonio straight through with only a couple of stops for food and gas, so this trip should be a piece of cake. The only difference is I'll have to do all the driving since my wife isn't comfortable towing the camper.

Rland8228, we'll be down there on 4/25-5/2. Hope to be in loop 100. We always sit out in front of the MH in the morning and have our coffee. If you see us stop and say hello!

We had a popup for a few years until we out grew it last year and bought a used TT. Ours doesn't have a slide and after seeing the added space the ones with the slides have my wife was ready to buy. We found one she liked but the build quality and storage was lacking, we then found another one that we both really liked but the dealership wouldn't negotiate on price.

We have trips planned for Shenandoah and Acadia National Parks, two trips to Pine Grove Furnace State Park near Gettysburg, two trips to Little Pine State Park near Williamsport, a trip to Laurel Hill State Park, Susquehanna State Park in Maryland, and Twin Grove Campground. We also want to do a Halloween theme weekend in October and think we might head to the campground at Knoebels. And then the boys and I usually have a couple of tent camping trips with the Cub Scouts.

Wow! I am subscribing to this thread and plan to look up all these parks! How fun!:)
