I've had my heart set on this Disney vacation for two years. Waited till this morning to book with the FD offer, and apparently there are no Moderate resorts left for us (family of 5). Can't afford anything above and only value that fits us is more than a mod. I am going to call when the systems open to see if anyone on site can help me...but I've had back up trips organized in case free dining was not released, guess I will have to book that instead if they can't help.

Wow!! Usually CBR is available - often the only FD mod. It's not?!? :scared:

Yup that is what I was expecting, but not my dates I guess. ASMu is still $500 higher than CBR would have been and with exchange that is a lot.

Ya, I am glad we had back up...kids were excited, but have known from the start that it wasn't 100% due to pricing and our dollar.

Wait 2 weeks and try again. You'd be surprised. You can also call back 72 hours from now as well.

This. This very thing happened for our November trip last year. Couldn't even get through on the phone for 2 days and then they had nothing at all. The phone CM told me that what we see online is what they see there so there's no advantage to phoning over looking online. Finally after about two weeks of obsessively checking it came up for CBR and I grabbed it. I think people book multiple reservations and once the figure out when they can go they cancel the unwanted ones, just my opinion of course.

Yup keep checking, I have creeped all day and there is always change. Also adjust your days by one either way and it changes again. I have seen times for POR, CBR,CS for the mods all come up. Good luck.

You may also want to scroll to the bottom of the page when you look. I was looking to book for a friend (POR starting Aug 14th) and the top entries all say they're not available but when I scrolled down there was availability.

Rebooked their Aug 14th trip and for an additional $50 they moved up from Quick Service Dining to Disney Dining Plan and now have Water Park passes. Originally I thought there wasn't anything but scrolling to the bottom of the page showed me differently. Hope this helps.

Honestly, wait a couple of weeks, more will come into stock :) That's what happened last year for us! We ended up with CBR about 3.5 weeks later ( I did check daily) and then it showed pretty frequently for several more weeks (we tried desperately to get CSR instead). I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

Thanks, I've continued to try calling the last two days with no luck getting through. I know it's useless, but no harm trying. I will try watching online another week or two. I am surprised by the lack of rooms. In the past we booked late, and had no issue qualifying. Figured since I was ahead of the game this year it would be easy.

Lots of people double book so they can work on flights or simply for many (like myself) I wasn't able to modify my existing res to include FD. I cancelled my original within minutes but others don't so like many have said, keep trying.
What dates are you looking for?

August 27-Sept. 03 and dates are stuck as we drive there so need the extra time for travel.
I'm watching and playing with my options. Mainly since we would be OK eating counter service anyhow whether we plan for OOP meals. The unknown of OOP just worries me. I don't want to become a budget police around food when we are on vacation. I just want to go with our best deal...which I have a few choices.

Disney's current room only discount
Another option is a room only Deluxe resort (for less than Disney's moderate quote)that I recently received and am verifying any openings.
A PIN I just received for room only...although last night when it arrived there must have been a glitch because after confirming with hubby that the prices would work I went to book this morning and it had jumped by $40/night.

Lol it just seems I am not having luck and maybe the fates are trying to tell me something.

What's more important to you? Going to Disney, or staying in a Disney resort? If you're driving - stay off site, you'll a huge amount of money, and you'll still be able to go to Disney. I'd far sooner stay off-site any day, than not go to Disney at all. I'm sure the kids would too.

I just read in the dining plan forum that someone just successfully booked pop. Sorry don't remember the dates but it looks like some resorts are opening up. Keep trying! I also hate to be the budget police!

Asmusic resort has avail for your dates with free dining. When I put it in it popped up with the back to school offer but once I got it, it let me switch to free dining.

Yes ASmu (and AOA) both have space, however when ASmu is over $4200US for room/tickets and QS plan.. OR I can get a deluxe room, tickets and a bonus for $3000 and **hopefully** spend $1200 in QS meals OOP. It's only that hopefully that stresses me.

For us it's onsite or nothing. Hubby drives the entire 24h there and back. His only request is once we arrive he does not have to see the can until check out.

It was all over facebook today that they have released new rooms as part of FD. A number of people were able to book at CBR this morning!

OMG THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU :worship::worship::love::love:

I was on the Disney site this morning, no luck. Checked my first break at work nothing...saw your post on my lunch and pulled up the site...ROOMS. Of course I could not book from my phone because my credit card was not saved, made it home and GOT IT!! $3700US moderate resort, DDP, Tickets. So much stress off my shoulders.

Ah. For us it's drive or nothing. DH refuses to fly. So DH drove 28 hours all himself, but he was far more interested in having his own private bedroom, pool table and 24' pool to relax in, than having to drive 15 minutes to Disney, lol. But, to each their own. Gotta keep the men happy ;) I think the expression should be "If Daddy ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."
