I am planning a WDW trip from 8/22 to 9/1/06 with my husband and two sons (age 10 and 7) with autism. I am familiar with the use of GAC in the theme parks but not sure about the application of GAC in the water parks (e.g., Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach). I called Disney information and was told that you could use the GAC but the person with the GAC cannot get in the water??!! It does not make any sense to me! I am just thinking about the use of the GAC for the long lines for water slides. Have anyone had any experience with the use of GAC in the water parks? I'll appreciate any feedback. :goodvibes

We also have two children with autism (DS 9 and DD 8) and as far as I am aware you can not use the GAC in the waterparks. Most of the slides have lines which go up the stairs and it is not possible to pass others who are waiting on the stairs.

What we do is get to the water parks at opening and ride as many slides as we can - once they get too busy we don't bother and spend the rest of our time in the lazy river and in the wave pool (at TL)

We still have a fantastic time there :thumbsup2

We do not issue GACs at the water parks. There are no "alternate entrances" for the slides and there is no place for waiting out of the sun.

Thank you for the information. I guess we'll just have to wake up extra early and beat the crowd in the water parks then. Still very much looking forward to it! :rotfl:

Our current water park hours are 9:00 to 7:00. However, both parks have EMH for Resort Guests beginning at 8:00.

This past week I was giving out wristbands at TL Wednesday and Thursday; each day there were about 600 people in by 9:00. Normally it will start to get crowded about 10:30.

Your other option would be to come after 3:00 when the crowds really thin out. However, generally in the summer mornings are sunny and we have thunderstorms in the afternoon which can cause either temporary closing or full closing of the water parks due to weather conditions.
