Guaranteed Admission?

There have been so few of those in recent years? What day are you thinking? Aside from 5/5/05 (my 40th birthday, btw)... which day do you expect to be a "gate closer"? The park holds 83000 and even on July 4th this year ( a traditionally VERY busy day), it peaked at 50,000 or so...

July 17th, 2005. The actual 50th Anniversary. Probably won't be as crowded as I think it's gonna be, just trying to have my bases covered.

grim pirate:

I will be there on July 17th (staying at PP) & I called Reservations, Disneyland Hotel & Paradise Pier hotel and asked them all the same question. Here are the answers I got:

Reservations: No Guarantees to one certain park. You are only guaranteed that at least one park will allow you addmission. If Disneyland is filled to capacity, they will direct you to California Adventure.

Disneyland Hotel: They allow on-site quests re-entry if they were in the park earlier in the day, but only up to a certain point. Once they meet the Maximum Capicity allowed by the Fire Dept. no one is allowed in (onsite guest or not).

Paradisie Pier: She wasn't very helpful & all she told me was that the park never fills to capacity, except on New Years & they don't offer guaranteed admission for guests. I told here there is a good chance July 17th will fill to capacity and all she said was "if it's full they won't let anyone in".

So, it's all clear as mud.

We were there last year the day after Christmas until the 30th and they closed the gates at least 2 days during that time, maybe three.

I was looking back at another thread similar to this and according to Disneyland emily, there is a 5 tiered system of closing off the park.

DL (and WDW) actually have a five tierd close system and its not just "no more"-

1) Stop selling tickets
2) no re-entry
3) No free (CM) or AP entry
4) Only resort guests
5) Hard close (aka no more people)

It doesnt happen very often they get to the 5- I have gone when its been up to a 3-

I've made reservations through Disney Travel and was told that there was no guaranteed re-entry for that day (July 17th). Ou package is for July 15-18. He didn't say anything about the other days, but they seemed to aniticpate larger crowds that day than the 15, 16, and 18.

I know it will be busy, but they 50th anniversary won't happen again.

I have booked other reservations after that for that week and hope everyone will go home after that weekend, so it won't be so crowded the rest of the week.....I can only hope.

If you are concerned about not being allowed entry, get their early (at opening) and enjoy your day. Don't leave the park until you are ready to leave for the day.

I know of at least one time in the past year that both DL and DCA closed their gates to all incoming guests. There are no guarentees. If getting in on a certain date is that important to you, then get there early. I'm sure on 7-17-05 they will have huge lines in the morning to get in, if they don't close the gates, then I'm sure the lines will go down dramatically, but there is no way to predict wether or not it will be full, so getting there as early as possible is the best way.
