GTY Rooms - What happens?

I switched a reservation and I now have Cat 6 GTY (no room assignment). What is the chance I will end up with a CAT 6? Anyone have this experience and care to share? I don't care about being upgraded unless it is to a CAT 3 for concierge service. LOL. Just wondering. We don't cruise until Sept 05. Which is were next week. Oh one more thing... you think I would be assign a room before port day so I can switch if I want? Thanks ahead of time for your replies.

Your chances of getting a Cat 6 are high....you'll for sure not get anything less. GTY means your gaurenteed at least a stateroom in the cat that you booked in...nothing less....but may be upgraded if needed. The chance of an upgrade is slim...but there. I say slim...just because there are not ALOT of upgrades given...but there is a chance. We booked GTY for last Sept...and were assigned a room # between 2-3 weeks before our sail date....But I'm not sure if at that time you'll be able to change rooms...It would all depend on how full the ship is, and what rooms are already assigned and taken. Not to mention they may find a way to charge you additional for changing your reservation (not sure about that...but maybe)
