Gty 12 - next year

On the 2011 cruises, there is no Cat 12 but 11A, 11B and 11C (see being the cheapest of the 3).

Does that mean next year there will be no special prices for what was Gty 12?

Also how many cabins of Gty 12 does the Magic have?

As of 2011, the categories on the Magic and Wonder have been re-named/assigned to match the categories on the Dream. There is no more cat 12. The cabins that were cat 12 are now 11C, and there are very low 11C rates on some sailings already.

The price is the same whether you are assigned a room or have a guarantee. A guarantee simply means they guarantee you a room and will assign it closer to the sailing, and they can put you anywhere they like.

11C Quarantee - means you do not have your room number until nearer the cruise but there is a chance of an upgrade.

Or do they both mean the same, whereby you do not get your stateroom number until just before and you might still get an upgrade??

When cat 11C was still called a cat 12, they typically only booked them as guarantees. I'm not sure if that is still true with the 11C. In all other categories I know they start bookings as specifically assigned rooms, and once they run out of room assignments they start booking the category as a guarantee. With a guarantee you will end up in the category you selected at a minimum, but potentially could be upgraded. With a guarantee you have no say in where your room is ultimately located. You can't request a guarantee room though - either an assignment is available or it is not.
