Anyone else getting weird gruesome banners? We are supposed to watch what we say but this gets a pass? It's like out of a horror movie. My most recent on here is from Bonvoyged and it looks like it is supposed to be a rare human diseased eyeball but it looks more like a scrubby sponge or something. How do I share a photo with a mod?

For once, my browsing history seems to be working in my favor... I'm getting obnoxiously large banners right now, but at least they're all for Jeep accessories and camping gear.

First, I recommend ad blockers. They work great on my desktop/laptop, but not on my mobile devices.

Second, assuming you're using a Windows PC... with whatever you have on the screen that you want to copy, press Windows+Alt+S. Then, using your mouse, draw a box around what you want to capture. That will put that image in your clipboard and you can paste it where you want (for example, a DM to a Mod or in a thread).

Are you on a mobile device? I'm on my desktop and use AdBlocker Plus and not seeing any ads at all.

I do know how to copy it, thank you though, what I don't see is a tab to share an image with mods without shoving a freakish photo in other people faces on this thread. Like I said I think here is tilted a bit towards family friendly, don't want someone looking with a kid nearby to get nightmares.

Doesn't the site control the ads or is it a free for all? Few months back I got another person's face which was creepy, this too is creepy.

Been on these boards almost 20 years, NEVER seen it like it was this morning. Something was different, I don't normally see ads at all. I didn't pay attention to the ad content, just that they were there.

Saw one of the most sexually inappropriate ads I’ve ever seen here twice in the last 2 days. My browsing history would make you think I have as much interest as your average comatose eunuch.
It was pretty gross. Nobody has basic standards of decency anymore, especially if they sell internet ads.

Desktop with ad-blocker, no ads. Mobile device, a totally different story. Especially with the moving and jumping ads. If I go to type a post, the ad jumps in the way and I wind up on the asinine ad site. Or, the ads slowly lower from the top and block access to needed links at the top of the forums. It is a nightmare on mobile. I have to be finger quick to dodge hitting the ads.

And yes, sickening ad content. I often wonder what type of people create such trash and garbage, and then distribute it on a 'family friendly' web site. The ads are overwhelming. Wish Android had an ad-blocker

Which is why I said you can DM a mod.

My understanding of how the ad selection works... a website says "I have this <insert dimensions here> hole on my website I want to put an ad in". A 3rd party (Google I think is one of them) looks at the size of the available space, advertisers who have an ad of that size, then the browsing history of the person viewing the page. The hole then gets filled in.

My company used to have issues with "inappropriate" ads showing up on our webpage. They had someone in tech support they could contact and say "don't allow company 'z' to run ads on us." Since viewers see different ads, the best way is to notify the web owners, preferably with the ad manufacturer.

I don't think Chrome has it's own ad blocker.

I saw the eyeball too. It was a sore eye and an eyesore.

I’d rather see the sexually inappropriate ads than whatever was going on with that funky eye. All ads on this page now are about certification, clothing, Kelly Ripa, and beach vacations.

I’m using my phone and used to constantly see fungus toenails (another good indie band name @Micca ). They kept popping up as I scrolled. It went on for months. I currently see ads for guitar accessories. 🤔

I use Chrome on my laptop. It has an extension "Adblocker Plus" that apparently works VERY well. I don't think it's a proprietary Chrome product though, but I sure don't know.

When I first read this thread I though - "ok, but how bad can a eyeball really be???" haha....then just now I saw another ad. No eyeballs, just other body parts  woza! I'm not sure I'm old enough to have seen it!
