I just reported some kids for using really foul language and being very rude to other players. I get a message back from vmk saying "call for help is for emergencies only. If you continue to abuse this, you will be banned for 24 hours!" WTH??

I am so mad right now! How dare they threaten me with a ban for simply telling them that others aren't following rules! Not like I used the button to ask what time it was!

Well yesterday there were some kids using very inappropriate dictionary dancing language and after reporting them, I too got the message saying report button is for emergencies, if you abuse it you'll be banned for 24 hours. What in the world do they think is an emergency? Ugh so ridiculous!!

My advice would be to just stop reporting. It doesn't help, and you are only putting yourself at risk for a ban.

On the VMK web site, under "Safety" it specifically states:

Use the Call for Help button in-game if you are made to feel uncomfortable by another player.

It also says, under the "For Parents" section:

Is It Safe?
Even when a game has great safety features and controls, there's no substitute for a hands-on approach and people to call on. That's why VMK is only open when we can moderate it:

10:00 a.m. — 1:00 a.m. EST
7:00 a.m. — 10:00 p.m. PST

Whenever the game is open, there are VMK Staff on hand to help Players.

VMK Staff are carefully selected and fully-trained staff members. Players can ask VMK Staff for help at any time by clicking on HELP in the game. VMK Staff will then either send them a message or join them in the game to help them.

Conversations in all parts of VMK are logged and can be monitored at any time without warning. Questionable behavior may be reported to appropriate authorities.

So, that warning you got is totally inconsistent!!

Shame on them.
