I can totally relate! I've had a similar experience recently.
DD's ballet performance was last week, Thurs, fri, & sat. I am in charge of the Ballet boutique. We have gift items, flowers and dance related items for parents and ticket holders to purchase. The $$ goes to a scholarship fund for the dancers to use for dance camps, etc.
Well, you wouldn't believe how I was treated by my "customers". They acted like I was in the business for a profit!
"I can't believe you don't take credit cards!" Give me a break! It's one weekend every other year!!!
"Why can't you embroider that jacket and have it back to me before the end of the show?" Umm, well I guess I can miss the whole show and go in the back where there is an embroidery machine set up just for you (not)!"
One woman thought her daughter's hat order was wrong. She angrily approached me with her finger flailing......."I PAID for this to be a certain way!!!!" rant, rant, rant......Turns out SHE filled out the order form wrong. Did she apologise? HECK NO!
Snotty, rude comments about prices, or if something wasn't marked clearly. Unbelievable!
Come on people, we're VOLUNTEERS!!!! We've spent the entire week setting this up so you could buy nice things for your dancers and raise some $$ for them to attend camps!
Sorry, didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. I guess you just struck a nerve!
There, now I feel all better.
