Just took youngest DS to the Dr and he wanted to measure himself... He's 48.5"

I guess we have officially ended the era of strollers and Rider Switch. :thumbsup2

Hard to believe he's finishing kindergarten. Our first Disney trip he was a baby getting his first haircut at the barber shop!

It goes so fast. My daughter is the same age. She lost her 2nd tooth last night and I got a little teary. Not as teary as the 1st tooth, but it makes me realize how fast she is growing up.

My son is also finishing kindergarten and last time I measured him, he was 47". He can't wait to hit 48" so he can ride Rock-N-Roller Coaster. :)

Since he's my "baby" I'm definitely a little melancholy about him finishing kindergarten and moving on to 1st grade. I was not happy about him turning 6 a few months ago.

We went stroller-free to Legoland in March and it was very freeing! I don't plan to take it back to Disney, either!

My daughter is 8 now and I recall our first trip without the stroller! It made navigating through the crowds much easier!! I too felt free but I'm missing the extra space to stash things while in the park!

I've been thinking about this too especially since we're going in August. DH always carries a hydration backpack with water/ponchos/etc, but it's going to be so hot wearing a bag all day. It would be nice to toss it under the stroller while walking around.

We actually didn't use the strollers last trip either. We brought both (middle DD is the same size as DS) and we figured we would do the morning without and then bring them to the parks after our mid-day break. But they never wound up leaving the room the whole 12 days. I'm tempted to still bring one along this trip "just in case", but DH is thrilled to not have to pack them into the van.

My DD9 went to an orchestra concert a couple of weeks ago to hear music from PoTC, Peter Pan and Hook, and before she left I snapped a quick photo of her. I was kind of in shock when I looked at the photo after she left the house. I mean, she looked like a little adult! I don't know how this happened. Here is a pic of her on her first bus ride at Disney in 2007 when she was 4, and the pic of her before her concert...

We have a WDW trip coming up this Oct. and it will be her last trip before she moves into the "adult" category. :faint: I just can't believe how fast time flies!

I have three kids so I'm still anxiously awaiting the no stroller days. Our next trip, our 5th with-kids trip in 6.5 years, will be our first trip with no one in diapers. It will be ODS last trip on the kids price since he's 9. He was barely 3 when we did our first with-kids trip. Our next trip will also be our first trip with no one under 40". The older kids are going to miss not doing rider swap as much!

As for the rides, my oldest actually isn't that bold. He's always been tall but hasn't want to do several of the taller rides. Our next trip will be DD's last trip at under 48" though. (She's also finishing up kindy but with shoes, she would be only 46") I figure ODS will do the taller rides when DD gets on them. Little sisters have a way of motivating older brothers to ride the bigger rides!
