Any tips from the ladies who have gone from short hair to long? About 6 years ago I cut my long hair very short and I have maintained it short for all this time, but two months ago I decided I wanted to grow it out, all one length again. I am at this frustrating stage where it really doesn't do much of anything. I know I have to wait it out, but I am looking for tips on what to do with it while I wait. Also, are there any vitamins out there that will make your hair grow faster or do I just have to wait it out?

You just have to wait it out. I went from short and it is getting longer now, almost to my shoulders. I just never thought aboout it each day and the more I don't think about it the longer it seems to be. Good luck, it will get there, just be patient.

:D

I went from a really short pixie cut back in the mid 90's to maintaining waist length hair. The hardest part is when you let you bangs grow out. They got on my nerves for a while. I used headbands and barrettes. Give it time and be patient and learn to do new stuff with your hair at every length and soon it will be long.

When I first grew mine out, I learned how to do a french braid on myself. This keeps all those fly-away bangs contained. Also, try a side hairpart!

Headbands headbands headbands!!!

I get so bored with my hair, I grow it long, get bored, cut it all off, then get bored, and grow it out again.

I am really lucky that my hair grows like weeds!!!!! (when I was taking pre-Natal vitamins, I was literally getting my haircut every 3 weeks or so!! It was insane)

Headbands, barrettes, and lots and lots of patience.

Debbie said exactly what I was going to say... barrettes & headbands!!! THat and actually getting a fairly regular hair cut. I think I was getting mine done about every 8 weeks when I grew hair out (short cuts & bangs at one point). Make sure you let them know what you want to do and they can actually make growing hair out my easier and give you styles that make it look good as it grows. Good luck :)

To keep your hair healthy while growing out try to air dry it as much as possible. Blow dryers and hair products (sprays, gels) can cause damage and weakening. Trim ends too.

Now that my hair is past my waist I use a ton of conditioner on the later half especially. I'll scrub my scalp well and rinse completely. Then I apply a conditioner such as Pantene Pro V deep fortifying conditioner from shoulder to ends. I towel dry, tie my hair back using coated bands or a scrunchy and then pin it up with hair sticks.

For growth and a good start, eat a healthy diet. Eat a proper balance of protein, carbs and fat. Your diet should include plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, nuts, grains and oils (such as olive). Drink lots of water too. It's not only good for your hair but your skin, nails and the rest of you too.

My hairdresser gives the MOST AWESOME haircut!! Especially for those in between times. And while you are here, stop and say:wave2: Italy is really not as far away as the map makes it seem. :) GOOD LUCK!!!
