Take a look at the fine print.

•$25 resort fee/day, 12.5% tax, & incidentals not included!!!!!

I'm not sure what they mean by "incidentals" but the tax on the nightly room price of $159/night is $15.63. That means that you will pay another $81.26 for the two nights in the groupon. (Talk about hidden fees!) Your total cost for the two nights will be at least $240.26.

That's still not a bad price for the Nick Hotel. They send email deals sometimes that are similar in price.

If you do decide to buy this groupon, go thru ebates, mypoints or whatever rewards program you do so that you can get a little bit back. Ebates gives you 3% cashback and mypoints gives you 8 points on the dollar.

It's $159 for 2 nights or $80 a night. With tax and resort fee it's $235.12 or $117.56/night. Incidentals are things like food, drinks, anything you charge to your room. I've gotten a little better than that a couple of years ago, but still a bargain And yes, go through eBates! :thumbsup2

That would only be true if they only charged you tax on what you paid for the groupon and not the actual value. My experience has been that hotels charge the tax based on the actual room rate for each night stayed since it is an occupancy tax levied by the local governments.

:scared1: Wow, they've come a LOOOOONG way since I went back when they were HIFS. I paid about $70 a night for a 2 br suite!:thumbsup2

Really? That stinks. I guess they would charge based on rack rate? But who pays rack rate anymore? :confused3
I've never had that happen when I've used any kind of discount from anywhere. I wonder how someone buying this could find out.
