Group Dining vs DVC MS?

I called today to make a group dining PS for LTT for one of the MVMCP nights. The CM said sorry, no availability. I asked if it was fully booked, or if there just wasn't room at any time for a party of 16 - she said it was fully booked. 5 minutes later I called DVC to make some adjustments to my ressies, and asked about them making a PS - she looked up LTT and immediately gave me 6 times from which to choose! I've read that this happens - goes to show that if you don't like the first answer you get, try again!

I had the exact opposite happen to me. Tried to make a PS at CRT for DD's honeymoon through DVC and told there was nothing available. A call 5 minutes later to Disney Dining and I had a confirmation number!
