Group Dining Question

Hi Everyone!

I have read that if your group is over a certain size (6 or 8) an automatic gratuity is added. Since most people are paying separate (either through meal plan or cash) I was wondering how this works. Is there one separate bill just for gratuity?

Last year we were always a party of 7 and the tip was added on to the bill. It was added onto the receipt for one of the members from a room. In other words, they will only need to swipe one card per room so that is how it is added on. I hope this makes sense.

It does not matter how many dining plans you have or separate checks, if you eat all at the same table it is automatically divided up and added to each check.

what if you are on a didnig plan and you aren't paying cash do you have to still have to leave what they say for a tip

We were on the dining plan and just paid cash for the tip. I always paid what was added on because I did feel I got great service and they deserved it. I will tell you that sometimes the tip was quite pricey. But we are a family of 4 and the other 3 that ate with us were my MIL, DS's GF, and Niece. I knew going in that the tip would be added if we all were seated together but I was willing to pay the price.

Okay, thanks! My big worry was they would just give one tip bill to one person, but if they split it between each couple, that works. I was just worried because some of my friends are really cheap, and I didn't want the rest of us getting stuck with it, you know?
