Hello all
Im looking for any good or bad words about this place.
Never been there but looks like a steal.
Thanks
Ed

I've heard alot of negative on this resort. Additionally, they just filed for bankruptcy protection.

I don't have any personal experience. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

You might want to check the Travelocity guest reviews. I did about a year ago, and we stayed at another hotel after reading all the negative comments.

We stayed there back a few years when Hurricane Andrew hit. Back when we didn't make ressies - just looked for a nice hotel. LAST time we ever did that! Only stayed there because there were no other rooms around and had to sleep somewhere. Of course we paid rack rate then even though it was probably still cheaper than it is now. I don't think I would stay there again though. I wasn't impressed with the resort for what we paid. Basic room, crowded pool, no decent food on-site.

Maybe it's changed since then but I won't go back.

We stayed there in 2001. Got a great rate. Stayed in the Tower. Thought it was nice, especially for the price. Service was good. Everywhere I went was clean (i.e. pool, our room, lobby, laundromat). Requested extra pillows and request was filled in a matter of minutes. Bus service to parks was good. Housekeeping was consistently good. It was a good experience for us. Maybe those staying in the outer buildings may have a different opinion. But my expereince was a good one. Also a very short walk to Down Town Disney. :D

Stayed here in 8/01. All 11 in our party loved it. We did stay in the Tower and watched fireworks from DTD every night from our room. Transportation was good, busses more comfortable than disneys. Great having DTD that close. We stopped by in June 04 to look around the common areas as we have read some bad reviews, all looked clean, working, and the guest were smiling. Can't be too bad. I would consider it again.

I stayed there last Sept for a Mommy's Vacation. I loved it! I did have a room in the tower(???? in the main part of the building) and I am sure that made a difference. I saw the inside of one of the "lower priced" rooms and it did look really dark in there. Those rooms have floor to ceiling windows that faced the parking lot. My room, though, was really nice. It was as big as the room we had at the Poly, just as clean and nicely decorated and had a large frig at no charge. My room faced Orlando, so I can not comments of fireworks from my window. The entire hotel was clean and nicely decorated. There are two pools in the same area out back. There's also a kids' pool that has a canopy over it. The drinks at the bar were good and averaged priced. I did get a daily special that was cheaper and was quite good.

I am going again in a few weeks and was really hoping to get a room here again, but I ended up with the Best Western. (hopefully it will be just as nice)

Was looking into staying there this fall with one of their packages. We decided to stay at ASMovies - our first time on site. I checked a bunch of travel sites that had reviews of the place. They pretty much echoed what has been said.

If you stay in the tower rooms you have a better chance of being satisfied with your stay. The regular/standard rooms seem to have the most complaints. Mixed reviews of the restauant/dining facilities. Also mixed reviews on the staff - desk/housekeeping. I'm sure if you looked into them you've seen some of the packages they offer - room/tickets/some meals. The prices seem to be good, but we are driving in from Illinois, a long trip, and would hate to be disappointed with our room.

It's your call, we just decided that since it's kind of a present for our daughter's birthday, we wanted to stay where there was more Disney themeing and less chance of a bad hotel experience.

Good luck.

We are seasoned Grosvenor goers. Well, I guess I should say former seasoned.
We have stayed there for years. I would agree, the tower rooms are nicer than the standard rooms.

To be perfectly honest with you, after a while, the ONLY reason we kept going back there was because of the waitress' in the dining room for breakfast.

My husband I go down to WDW three times a year. The waitress' would remember us and they treated us like family.

When we stayed there last Sept. we had a major complainant about our check out experience. So bad, that I email the hotel the day we got home. They asked us to allow them to make up for the error.

When it was time to book our Dec. trip, I was standing firm in my shoes, but we had gotten spoiled with the location and bus service. In the end, they offered us a deal and we took it.

I was thinking that they would be bending over backwards to make sure our stay was exceptional. We were in the tower and it was the worst experience we have ever had in a hotel. And trust me, my husband and I do a great deal of traveling.

We have recently bought into DVC and after those last two experiences at Grosvenor, we were not doubting our purchase in the least.
As I told the manager of the hotel, with all the competion in the WDW area, a hotel can not treat their guests as their top priority.
And I will shout as loud as possible, Grosvenor does not meet that motto any longer.
I would look elsewhere.

We stayed there in 1999 at the suggestion of a travel agent. We will not do so again. It usually took 15 to 20 tries for our key to open the door, there was a smell in the hallway. We booked our own trip in 2000 stayed at ASM for one night longer than we stayed in 1999 and payed $100 less.

I suspected that it was too good to be true. We are now booked at the Doubletree. Stayed there before...it's not the nicest doubletree, but far from the worst.
