I bought my husbands ring at the same store where he bought my ring. We were actually shopping together, and we had already had the conversation and found the perfect ring for me and was less than he was hoping to spend. I still love it even 15 years later. Anyway, we found a mans ring that is "complimentary" and somewhat similar to my ring. Also, there was a bit of assurance that the diamonds were decent.

He had actually been married before and was expecting to get another standard gold band, but I insisted that he get something extra special because he would wear it until he died, and he will (or I'll kill him.)

My suggestion: Don't go crazy on the budget, but get the nicest thing you can afford because it's permanent.

We live in NY so we went to the diamond district to get my ring and got his at the same place, but he first tried it on at fortunoff's

We got DH's ring on weddingbands.com and I was glad we found them! We had a heck of a time because he is not a guy who will wear diamonds or anything like two-tone or engraved, and he didn't want a ring that was too large or too small so we settled on 4.5mm comfort fit which was impossible to find in a local store. My rings are platinum but he wanted white gold since it was less expensive and that was fine with me, they still matched. It was only $150 including shipping and arrived in a week!

DH's ring came from Titanium Rings. He knew he wanted titanium, and at the time, all the other stores we looked in were charging $200 or more for titanium rings. He didn't want anything fancy, just a plain band. We got it off the website for $65 including shipping and everything.

He did not want to spend a lot of money on his ring b/c he probably wouldn't wear it much and/or would lose it. He lost it already... LOL Of all places at his mom's house. We think it got sucked up in the vacuum cleaner. Oh well. It was too big anyway, so I might order him a replacement for our anniversary...

Thank you for posting these. I've been searching for ideas for my DH2B. I'm a gold girl - no silver or platinum for me (he should be lucky right?) but he's a silver guy so we've compromised on titanium (I think) for his ring. I'm thinking I might be able to find something that also has gold in it to match my solitaire set in 14k gold with platinum prongs because (and yes I know they don't have to match) I’d really like it if they did.
