Greetings DisBrides and DisBrides-To-Be,

I am the soon-to-be groom of one your fellow Disbrides whom regulaurly posts on this board and have a question about the Disney Visa card and figured this was the best place to get answers to my questions.

My DF has placed me in charge of the finances (Thanks! LOL;) ) for the wedding while she takes care of pretty much everything else. I remember reading on here awhile ago that the Disney Rewards Visa Card could not be used to pay for Disney Weddings. This does not make much sense to me and I wanted to know if this is true? Or, has anyone else used it to pay part of their Disney wedding expenses?

They sent me the offer yesterday and are offering 0% interest until November 2008 which seems like a great deal for us.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Pluto - I don't know where you got your information, but many couples have used the Disney Visa to pay for their wedding. Myself included.

If you want to know for CERTAIN, just call DFTW and ask your EM. She will be able to give you the answer.

Hope this helps. And, good for you for helping!! I would have loved if my DH was a little more into the planning of the wedding. :)

Good luck!
Angela

You can use the Visa card to pay for the wedding. I *think* that what you can't use is the rewards card with your earned points to pay for the wedding. But the points you get for putting the wedding on your Visa card can sure help pay for a Disney Honeymoon.

Just a financial tip that we are doing...

My fiance opened a Disney Visa right when we got engaged. We have been using it for everything disney wedding related from deposits to buying invitations, etc. (It also makes it easier to track the wedding budget.)

Any wedding money that we are saving or receiving from various sources is going right into an ING account to earn 4.5% interest back.

Then right before our final bill is due I am opening a visa card for myself. We will then paying down the existing balance on his card accrued the year before the wedding. Then paying our final wedding bill using both cards. All the money in the savings account will go to pay the credit card bills (first his and then mine) and if any credit balance is left it would be on my new card which will have the 0% for several more months.

We are so excited because the savings account will earn us extra money over the next year and then we will have tonz of disney points to be used to pay for honeymoon expenses.

It's the Disney Honeymoon Registry card that you can't use to pay for your Disney Wedding. Disney Rewards Visa = A-OK!

You can use the funds in your Disney Honeymoon Registry account to pay for things like your hotel and the expenses you incur after you get to WDW, you just can't apply it toward any balance you owe Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings.

:thumbsup2

Just be sure to pay your final bill in time to get the credit of the points on your disney visa - it's not instant, and you wouldn't want to miss out on being able to use all those points for your disneymoon. You may need to pay a few weeks earlier than Disney's deadline to make sure you get your points. Pay attention to your DF's bills and see how long it takes for the points to show up so you know for sure.

Thanks for the info. and advice!!

Looks like my plan will come toghether nicely and I better get moving because were getting married in November.:goodvibes
