Grocery stores

Could any florida locals or anyone with any local knowledge tell me where I will find a grocery store between Sanford airport and WDW Pop Century.I plan to travel via the SR 417.Have never driven in the USA before so would rather not stray far from the main road.Thank you for any help.

Great question! I too am looking for that information. I checked out publix.com and can't find one right on 417.

I can not find the maps but here we go:

There is a publix on 192 (main gate entrance) like leaving the property on the left behind the Logan's Roadhouse--on the other side of I4.


There is another one near the other entrance -- I believe it is 535--go off property via DTD area -- make a left at main intersection(goody's across the light) go under I4 -- make a left into the Bahama Breeze, Golden Corral area--follow road pass the Prem outlets and publix on the left past Mcdonald's

Alreet, the other poster in this thread mentions the Publix at Orlando Premium Outlets which is probably your best bet, but why not go to your hotel first and then shop?

Not only will you have more room in the car, but you also won't be leaving your car full of luggage etc.

Have a look on www.publix.com and it'll give the nearest store through the store locator.

It all depnds really on how far you want to drive etc but if you're just after a few essentials there is 7-11 petrol station on the road that links Lake Mary Boulevard in Sanford to SR 417.

Goodings is located right near the entire Downtown Disney area in the Crossroads Shopping Center. The phone number is 407-827-1200. The actual location is the intersection of SR 535 and Hotel Plaza Blvd. It is not hard to find and its not far from your hotel. Also, you could call Pop directly and ask for better directions at 407-938-4000.

Sorry I can't be more specific. We know our way around but do not know the street names!

Publix is a lot cheaper and has a better range of goods than Goodings.

I totally agree but the OP was leary of driving. Publix isn't that much farther but it can be a bit more confusing to get to than Goodings. Just trying to be helpful!

There's a Publix just around the corner from the Gaylord Palms...don't know if it's the one you're talking about. Only takes a couple of minutes to get there, staff is super friendly and efficient, prices were as good or better than at home. Super Walmart further out was NOT such a good deal. Not only was there little selection and higher prices but I had to suffer the indignity of having the lady at the door check every little thing in my bags against my receipt...while lots of other people left the store with NO check whatsoever. (Also note that I had checked out within sight of the exit doors...not waaaaayyy down at the far end.)
