Grocery stores near Vero ?

I'm starting to plan my May trip and am looking for nearby grocery stores.

It seems that most Publix stores are 11 miles or more from the Resort. Are any large grocery stores a bit closer?

Isn't the Publix in Sebastian closer than 11 miles?

Wow, I didn't realize the one in town was about that far. I guess we enjoy the ride so much we didn't realize.

We go to the closest Publix on route 1 north. If it's less than 11 miles, then I stand corrected. I never really pay attention to the milage, and it takes us 10-15 minutes to get there. They also have a chinese take out and subway next door, and I even got a quick haircut in the same shopping center. A walmart is about 10 minutes more up the road heading North than has food as well.

I was looking at Publix in Vero Beach and all of those were way too far. Since this will be my first trip to Vero I'm not familiar with the roads and Towns.

I know what you mean... The first time I stayed there, I was a little intimiated by doing a little driving myself and learning the roads.... (Got spoiled staying at the WDW DVC resorts..)

The front desk is very helpful in giving ideas and suggestions about restaurents, shoppping, and entertainment...
