Grocery store trip

We are arriving on Sun, Sept 2 and staying at WL. We had planned to use DME and disney transportation for the week until we leave for the beach on Friday and will rent a car. However, we have an almost 2 yo son and I really need to make a trip to the grocery store when arriving on Sunday. Should we go ahead and rent a car for the whole week, rent a car for just 1 day then again the next weekend or just get a cab to/from the store on arrival day? We have always had a rental car before, but was trying to save a few dollars by not renting it until the weekend when we leave Orlando.

Grocery delivery service: gardengrocer.com (seems to have a specific, non-named store where they shop), wegoshop.com (will shop where you request), goodings.com (shops in their own store). All have a minimum, and charge varying service charges.
Hess Gas Station and convenience store near Downtown Disney (bus to DtD, then walk across street).
Depending what and how much food you need, you might just want to buy it at your resort's gift shop. Yes, per item it's more expensive than a supermarket, but ultimately may be the most cost-effective option. With the Villas at Wilderness Lodge sharing facilities with WL, the gift shop will have a larger selection of groceries than a 'just plain' resort.

gardengrocer.com delivery fee is $12.00 to WDW resorts. Delivery is free for orders over $200.

We use DME with a grocery delivery by wegoshop.com. We have used them 4 times and been very satisfied. Even with their delivery fee, it is a huge savings over renting a car for several days.
