Hi all - is there a grocery store or WalMart, etc. close to USE where you can stop on the way from the airport to buy some snacks/soda/etc. on the way to the hotel??

Not sure where you are staying, however, if you leave MCO via the south exit and get on the Fl. Greenway, there is a super wal*mart on John Young Parkway, which is right off the Greenway.
You can do a map using MCO as a starting point and Walmart (do a search for stores at www.walmart.com) as the ending point. I use Mapsonus.com for my mapping.

I like to stop at a SuperWalmart for the variety of foods at good prices plus the WDW/FL souvenirs also at good prices.

The Walmart over in Kissimmee had the absolute worst service I had ever encountered. Next time I will look for a drugstore or general grocer.

The Wal*Mart has excellent service, just too darn many people in the store. the lines can be long, but, those people work their butts off and the lines do move along pretty quickly.
My hat is off to those Associates, I wonder how long any of us would last under those conditions. My bet: not long.

Gee, the Super Wal-mart in Kissimmee is the one we usually shop at & have never had problems. I agree with Gail that it is always busy & I wouldn't want to deal with all the shoppers day in & day out!

We always go to the Super Walmart in Kissimmee (next to Medieval Times) and have never had problems. In fact when I was there in May on a Saturday afternoon, I walked right up to a cash register, no line. Their prices are great!

I was actually asking for a store close to Hard Rock Hotel, but thanks for the info on Super Walmart! What exit would you take off of I-4? We always stop at Gooding's when we stay at WDW.

Actually there is one right on John Young Parkway.
I posted the directions just a while ago. And, I will do so again.

Gail, thank you. This is exactly what I have been looking for!
Thank you again very much :)

Go to Publix.com and cruise the site for the one near your path
of travel around the area. We found a Publix one quarter mile
from Sea World that sold 4 gal foam coolers for less than $ 5 .
Each day we loaded it with a small trash bag of ice from the Hotel
and a twelve pack of 16 oz water bottles @ $ 4 and left it in the trunk of the car for
after we left a park each day. Darn, I hated leaving the cooler in Florida!!!!!!.
 ps don't forget DINKIN DONUTS, BERGERkING AND MACDONALDS.COM:D

Much easier way to Super Walmart: Once you get on Rte 528W , Beeline Exprwy take the second exit, McCoy Rd. Mc Coy Rd turns into Sand Lake Rd; Super Walmart is about 4 miles down Sand Lake Rd on the left on the corner of John Young Pkwy. To get to HRH just keep going w. on Sand Lake Rd another couple of miles and follow the signs to US.
