Grocery shopping near Aulani

I understand that there is a Target near Aulani and it is a reasonably priced place to buy your groceries. I think I also read somewhere that Target no longer uses plastic bags and you should bring your own cloth bags. Does anyone know if this is true?

Bring your own bags. Target does not have bags in their stores here. Walmart has the heavier plastic which are considered reusable. Most grocery stores will have paper but not plastic. Places like Longs (CVS) Wallgreens do not have bags. Most small shops will have paper only, if anything.

Target does sell the reusable bags, with the cheapest being around $1-$1.50. We found their grocery prices to be fairly reasonable and were able to get everything we needed.

Kmart on way to Walmart has the reusable bags also.

Target sells them, yes. Walmart has them for free.

There is also a Costco almost directly across the street from Target. The Target near Aulani is not a super Target, but you should find what you need there. Most stores sell some form of bags, whether they are reusable or a another form. The town next to Aulani that has the stores and restaurants is Kapolei. I live in Hawaii so let me know if you have any questions

Consider visiting Foodland (if you go, register for their Maika'i card for discounts) or Tamura for your grocery shopping. I think people stick to Target, Walmart, and Safeway because they are familiar with those chains. Not the best prices or selection though.

If you're going to Costco, head down the aisle where you would find the Ziplock "tupperware" containers (I think it's Aisle 4...if you're looking at the freezer section, it's to your right). Towards the end of that row you will find Costco re-usable bags. You get two HUGE ones and two medium sized ones for about $7. I LOVE these bags! Super durable and great Hawaiian themes on them.
