Going to Disneyland Sept 23 - 27 for my niece's 10th birthday. Have not been down to Cali and DL for 10 years. I am staying at the Tropicana Inn and Suites and would like to order a few groceries/ snacks to have in the room and to take with to the parks. As I'm from Canada, I'm just curious what you all recommend and if deliveries are allowed at the hotel. Thanks in advance

We've used Vons in the past (it's one of the many Safeway brands to deliver to several of the hotels on Harbor, but not specifically to the Tropicana. The various hotels all have different policies on grocery delivery so I'd call or look on their website. Some of them will take the delivery for you and keep it for you at the front desk; others say have you to be there to accept the delivery yourself.

I would call the Tropicana and ask them about accepting deliveries on your behalf. You could also place an order from Instacart and have it delivered directly to your room after you check in and are in your room to accept the order.

We are from Canada as well and have used Vons (though I think more recently it’s now Albertsons for delivery in the area - it was at Christmas anyways). If you have a car rental you could go to Target as well or possibly an Uber to pick up your own things. We’ve only had things delivered on site so double check with your hotel that they will accept and hold them if you’re not there.

Another Canadian here! We have used Vons in the past but our most recent trips we used Instacart.

Hi, I was thinking of just taking an uber to Target and doing it that way. We do get in to SNA about 3:30pm on the Monday. So no park that day as well will have had a full day of travel. Thanks for the advice. :)

If you are using a car service like Lansky’s from the airport, they include a 30 minute grocery stop.

Just be aware that if your flight is delayed then Lansky's can (and do) refuse to stop at a store.

That’s what we did from CCI…about $8-10 each way with Uber.

When we came last weekend, our flight was delayed a little over an hour due to mechanical issues and then weather. I was very concerned that Lansky’s would cancel our grocery stop. I emailed from the flight to let them know of the delay, as well as to say we could do our grocery stop in under 15 minutes, if they would still allow it. They didn’t say yes or no, but I did ask our driver when he picked us up at SNA, and he said no problem and no need to rush. It worked out great!

So glad that they were able to accommodate you! We were not as lucky a few trips ago, I was in constant communication with them about the delay but the driver ended up going to the wrong pickup area at the airport so it took him ages to get to us. I asked the driver and he refused to make the stop even though I said it would be less than 10 mins. I ended up contacting Lansky's to ask but they also refused. Super annoying and tbh we have not used them since that trip.

I totally understand your frustration!!! If they went to the wrong place at the airport, that is wasted time that is on them. I think they should have let you make a 10 minute stop!!

Yeah, we thought so as well but between our slight delay and the driver being at the wrong place, Lansky said there was not enough time to do our grocery stop, take us to the hotel, and then be on time for the next client pick up. Since the grocery stop is free and not guaranteed, they simply refused to make it.

We switched to using Executive Car Service and have had zero complaints.

Is the price of Executive Car Service comparable to Lanskys?

I believe so.
Does Executive say that they may or may not do your grocery stop? Just trying to compare as I will use whoever gives the best service! While we have used Lanksy’s numerous times without an issue, I was quite worried that my grocery stop would be cancelled due to our delay.

I'm trying to remember if we did a grocery shop with Executive. I think we may have but I also think they charged a small amount for the stop. I don't seem to have my confirmation emails anymore so you might have to contact the company and ask.

I can say that even if we paid a bit more, Executive would be our choice.

Just back from our trip, and we were really happy with our Walmart delivery to the Park Vue Inn. Prices are the same as in the store, and delivery was a flat fee of $9.95, which was waived after I signed up for a free one-month trial of Walmart+. We added a tip for the driver but didn't have any additional fees. Walmart is also nice because you can add things like sunscreen or cereal bowls if you'd like. We were able to choose a 1-hour window for the delivery (up until 10pm) and the driver arrived during that window.

This is great to know. Thank you! I plan to place a small order when we arrive and I was worried about delivery windows etc.

I'm also wondering about account settings for Walmart, Instacart or Amazon as I am Canadian. Hopefully it's not too hard to set up the delivery in advance from Canada without the site getting confused about my request for delivery in another country.
